This looks a little sill. Then again looking back on the cartoon, it was silly too. But I'll be there for sure. G.I. Joe was a big part of my childhood.

I really don't expect this to be good at all. I'm really disappointed with the black costumes. I would much prefer the "custom uniforms" as they are called on TVtropes.
I also personally see G.I. Joe as a "military vs. mad science" story, not necessarily a military elite vs. military elite story.

Yep, as much as I love G.I. Joe I'll have to hear lots of good things about the movie before I see it in the theater.

I may see Harry Potter, but this is the last of the summer movies that I'm actually looking forward to. I think the commercials make it look like a pretty spiffy popcorn movie, but then again the toys it's based on are way after my time.

This movie is not sounding...good.

From Comic Book Resources:
The rumor from yesterday about producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and director Don Murphy were fired from the project? Well today, di Bonaventura fired back. "It's very unfair to Steve, its completely untrue he was never asked to leave or been fired or any of that," di Bonaventura said. "That's ridiculous. The movie tested very well. [Sommers] did a very good job, the movie tested well, and it couldn't be more false that the studio in anyway did anything negatively to Steve.

I'm not a Joe fan, but a friend of mine is coming out to Jersey that week, and we have a looong history of seeing awful action movies together. This might be just what the doctor ordered.

The "acceleration suits" of the ads make it look more like Halo: The Rise of Cobra. I think I'll be OK with it as long as the movie holds to the following: "G.I. Joe is the code name for America's daring, highly-trained, Special Mission force. Its purpose: To defend human freedom against COBRA, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world." If it can manage that then every thing else is secondary.

Isn't it going to be multi-national, not American, in the movie?
