Ok, how about this for an idea. We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day. This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent. What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme. I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A". Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B". The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man". However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S". Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes. So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.

Adventure #511. I'm hoping this month's split cover decision doesn't turn out to be more difficult than I first thought!
I had seen STINGRAY before but this cover made quite the impression!
Missing yesterday couldn't be helped, but instead of trying to play catchup with the ending theme, I'm just going to start fresh with August.
My original introduction to The Secret Six was a reprint of their second issue in the back of Brave and the Bold #120. Years later I found a readable copy of their first issue at a garage sale. Was Jackie Starr a potential Golden Age humorous sidekick? Whatever the writer's intentions, he apparently split after his first appearance, so this is his Best moment.
My attempts to learn more reveal that there was another Jackie Starr in this era, a drag performer of note. The real-life Jackie danced as a Rockette, served in the merchant marines, and hobnobbed with Hollywood:
"No, I'm not doing a humorous scene with Johnny Thunder! I'm a serious character now! Holy typecasting!"

Steve Ditko's last Spider-man.
A cover made up of interior panels because, the story goes, he quit without completing one.
Wow. I never knew that ASM #38 was Ditko's last Spidey cover. Is this when he went to DC and started drawing Hawk & Dove?
Here's mine for today. Always loved this Neal Adams cover and I certainly remember buying it.
