Ok, how about this for an idea.  We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day.  This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent.  What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme.  I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A".  Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B".  The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man".  However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S".  Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes.  So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.

If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

Dinosaurs on Ice!

Sadly, I must hold my hand up here. I didn't know that Kang The Conqueror was the premier time traveler of the MU.  This is because I was never a big fan of Marvel, and I gave up reading comics in 1973. But I have duly filed the information away in my head for future reference.

I thought that was it, but I take into consideration the audience of this board. Is there anyone here who does not know that Kang the Conqueror is the premiere time traveler of the MU? Besides, he's "just standing there" on the cover to Avenger Forvever #4, too, but posted that one because of the dinosaur as well (forgetting that you already had, for undoubtedly the same reason).

Like Steve, I too was never much of a Marvel reader.  However, I do vaguely remember Kang, now that Jeff has described him.  One of the very few Marvels I actually own is the Fantastic Four Annual featuring "The Wedding of Sue and Reed", in which Kang appears among the hordes of villains who try to interrupt the celebrations.

DC, particularly the Legion of Super Heroes, was always much more to my taste.  Pretty much every one of their stories features time travel, at least implicitly.  Here are three covers where things are made obvious, even for anyone who doesn't know that the Legion is based in the 30th (or now the 31st) century.

More time travelers

Great Scott, Dave! You took the Back To the Future cover that I was going to use today!

Ah, well, here are the other two: one that also has a dinosaur (plus multiple Biffs!) and one that feature my favorite of the trilogy, Back To the Future III where a time traveler gets a companion named Clara. Now where have I heard that before?

Speaking of the LSH, we've seen plenty of "time bubble" covers so far, but here's one I don't think has been used yet.

A time-traveler having a slight problem

Someone must've been time travelling here... Or are these guys merely on their way to a fancy dress party?

More Blackhawk lunacy...
