Ok, how about this for an idea. We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day. This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent. What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme. I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A". Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B". The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man". However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S". Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes. So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.
If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

Kubert would be fine with me, but what about "First & Last"? I thought that was gonna be next...?
Oh yes, of course. "First & Last". Forgot that. Could we run with Joe Kubert in October?
"First & Last" is evergreen. I'm fine with putting that off until October if you want to synch Kubert up with his birth month.

This sounds like a plan. "First & Last" will take more digging on my part, so it's good for October. There are tons of Joe Kubert covers, so that should be a lot of fun in September.
Steve, the last few lines of the index don't look quite right. Here's how the "Parents" and "Fairgrounds and Carnivals" lines should appear.

Is that sufficient for you to fix the layout? If it would be easier, I could just post the whole table for you to copy in its entirety.
I can work with the themes of "Joe Kubert" in September and "First and Last Issues" in October. Kubert is an immensely important comics artist, and very worthy of this sort of spotlight. Could I just suggest for the future, though, that we don't spotlight a particular artist too often? The other sorts of themes do lend themselves to a larger variety of different sorts of covers.
Also, if folks could ever bring themselves to accept "Classrooms" (possibly including other places of education too) as a theme, I do have forty or so covers lined up!
1. I like classrooms, even if (I suspect) it will mean a lot of Archie covers.
2. So about those Merry-go-rounds: why aren't they riding humans?
