Ok, how about this for an idea.  We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day.  This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent.  What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme.  I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A".  Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B".  The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man".  However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S".  Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes.  So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.

If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

You can't go wrong with go-go checks and mod gorilla crime bosses (June 1967).

Tales to Astonish #27, featuring the "Man in the Ant-Hill." Henry Pym's first appearance.

Superboy #171 from 1971 which introduced Aquaboy! I spent years thinking that Aquaman had a teenage career as a super-hero!

Cover art by Carmine Infantino who's not connected to either Superman or Aquaman!

The Angel gets some team up action in Marvel Two In One #68.

Believe it or not, the Thing never teamed with any of the New X-Men in MTIO! He was paired with Iceman but not the Beast who palled around with Spidey three times in MTU!

No love for Cyclops!

Infantino may have drawn Aquaboy; but, Anderson had a lot to do with Superboy's rendering on the cover IMHO.

Adventures in Electricity #1 (May 1945)

I believe this is the first cover appearance of Dr. Alchemy, at least in the Flash title, even though he first appeared in Showcase #14. Yes, I know he had covers as Mr. Element.

Amazing Adult Fantasy #7. December 1961.  Cover art Steve Ditko

The Greatest Threat of the Silver Age: The Anti-Matter Man whose touch brings destruction (or the Batman TV show which stereotyped comics for decades, take your pick!).

Teen Titans #28 where Aqualad punches Robin! Surely a career highlight for the Prince of the Deep!

And, slightly older than Aqualad,is ATOMIC WAR #1, from November 1952. The name of the cover artist escapes me but it could have been Ken Rice.
