Ok, how about this for an idea. We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day. This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent. What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme. I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A". Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B". The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man". However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S". Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes. So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.
If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.
I think DC should be allowed to continue calling him "Captain Marvel," and Marvel should be permitted a character who defends the city of Washington called, "Captain DC."
Mystery In Space #94 (S'64) was supposedly a team up of Space Ranger and Adam Strange but while all three stories are connected, DC's "Buck Rogers" and "Flash Gordon" never meet. Space Ranger does meet Adam's less competent descendant!
The two wouldn't meet for real until Showcase #100 (My'78) and yes, I know DC said that it didn't "really happen", I choose to believe otherwise!
Looking forward to next month - the SUPERMAN month. Given that its Supes' birthday, I'm planning to post a number of vanguard issues. See y'all in May!
So "T" will be in June?
We're almost out of S, so better jam in as many as i can...
Speed Carter, Spaceman, and the Space Sentinels scrap with several scaley saurian species in space. (of course)
And - while i like the Captain DC idea, i really don't care what they call him as long as they don't do the stupidest thing possible and make him the butt of all the same jokes that have plagued Freddy Freeman for decades because the poor sap can't even say his own name.
Yes, - May is dedicated to Supes 80th birthday. "T" will be in June.

Superman #273 (Ma'74) was one of my earlier comics from Christmas 1973. For the longest time, I thought this "Wizard with the Golden Eye" was a major Superman foe! Still I vividly recall this story, especially Supes covered in green goop! Plus it wouldn't be the first or last time the crowd would turn on Superman, at least on the cover!
There was a neat "Private Life with Clark Kent" where he goes blind for a really strange reason (and doesn't involve kryptonite or magic). And we learn that Clark has a bust of Mort Weisinger in his apartment which wouldn't be my first choice for decoration!
