A Stupid "Angel" Question!

If I'm up early enough, I can catch some Angel reruns on TNT. I've probably seen more "Angel" than "Buffy" and I'm a big fan of "Bones". However I'm no Whedon expert and have only scant bits of knowledge so I have some questions.

1) The last episode I saw had Angel having sex with Cordelia and that reverted him back to Angelus. Did the same thing happen with Buffy and how was he given back his soul that time? And will that happen every time he has sex? How can one guy get that many hot chicks AND still be depressed all the time?

2) Who is Connor's mother? And why is he an adult? And why did Wes take him in the first place?

3) How can Angel survive during the day?

4) Is it wrong to think that Fred is just as sexy as Cordelia?

  • 1) I don't remember sex with Cordy turning Angel into Angelus (but it's been a while). Sex with Buffy did turn him, or revert him that is, into Angelus because of his gypsy curse. He would live with a soul until he experienced "one perfect moment of happiness." That did happen during sex with Buffy but doesn't happen with anybody else.

    2) Connor's mother is the vampire Darla. Don't ask. Rather, if you do ask then ask somebody else because I don't remember specifics. His birth was pretty darn cool, though.

    3) He stays covered. There was also a ring that would allow vampires in the sun but it was destroyed at some point.

    4) Not wrong at all. In fact, I prefer the librarian/scientist type to the cheerleader type.
  • You mean all vampires can be active during the day if they stay indoors or use a parasol?

Also does Angel still drink blood and where does he get it?

Darla was the vampiress who bit the human Angel, right?
  • As long as they stay out of direct sunlight, they're OK.

Bottled animal blood. Pig, I think.

Darla is the one who turned a young Irish man named Liam into Angelus.
  • 1. I'm guessing you didn't catch the entire episode. The sex with Cordelia only happened in a magically-induced hallucination - and it wasn't just the sex that reverted him to Angelus - it was the fact that every single aspect of his life had suddenly taken a turn for the better, and more or less turned out perfectly for him. The shaman who cast the spell specifically designed it so that every occurence brought Angel a little more joy until everything converged all at once into that "perfect moment of true happiness".

    2. A few weeks after Connor was born, an old enemy of Angel's named Daniel Holtz abducted him and fled into another dimension where time passed at a different rate than it did on Earth. When Connor and Holtz returned, seventeen years had passed in that other realm, while only a few weeks had passed on Earth.

As for Wesley, he kidnapped Connor after coming across a supposedly ancient prophecy that read "the father will kill the son". The prophecy of course, was referencing Angel and Connor, and Wesley felt it would be best to keep the kid away from Angel until he could figure out exactly what it meant, and how to avert it.

    4. Not at all, although I wouldn't turn down a date with either of them.
  • I must have missed that part though I did see them put Angel's soul-in-a-bottle in the safe.

Does Angel know about this prophecy? Is that why he wanted to kill Wes?

Another question, what's Lorne's story? Was he evil once like Angelus? And where did he get his sense of style?
  • Lorne is from a different dimension. Technically a demon, he's never been evil. And his sense of style? Some people have it, baby, and some people don't!

Angel found out about the prophecy (which turned out to have been a fake) after Connor's kidnapping. Needless to say, he wasn't very forgiving of Wesley's actions, which is why he threatened Wes' life at the hospital.
