Bizarre beyond belief

I rarely buy new music any more, not because current music is bad, but because I have so many records and Cds already that having any more seems pointless. Nevertheless, I recent popped into a used CD store just to look around, and in the 99 cent bin I noticed a CD called "Susan Storm's Ugly Sister". Could it really be referring to...?

It sure was. The disc, by a woman named Rachel Taylor Brown, contains 8 songs, half of which are about Catholic saints, half about superheroes. The superhero tracks include the title track, plus "Ambush Bug", "Bruce Wayne's Bastard Son", and, my favorite, "Lonely Galactus, the World Eater". And, happily, they're all about what the titles imply they're about.

Just thought I'd share.

  • What kind of music is it? Is any of it good?
  • If there's no profanity or sex-talk, I may need to find that one for the Galactus song alone...

Check out the Secret Headquarters (my store) website! It's a pretty lame website, but I did it myself, so tough noogies

Listen to WOXY.com, it's the future of rock-n-roll!

  • Looks like she (and, more importantly, her music) is on MySpace.

No "Lonely Galactus, the World Eater", but "Bruce Wayne's Bastard Son" is on there.
  • It's kinda folky-pop I'd guess. She has a web page and a myspace and all that good stuff so check it out.
  • Sue Storm has a sister?

    And I hear she's ugly.
