Ghosts of My Country: After having come “unstuck in time,” Captain America continues to bounce from time period to time period (13 times in this issue alone, from 1776 to September 11, 2001 and beyond) in this, the last of Captain America’s “Theater of War” one-shots. Generally speaking, projects of this nature present a mixed bag of stories, but whereas I certainly preferred some over others, they really all been good. “Ghosts of My Country” is not only this issue’s title, it’s its theme. I’ve always thought of Captain America as a super-hero, really, but after reading these Theater of War one-shots, I’ll never again be able to look at him as anything other than a soldier.

All right, I admit I merely assumed that "Ghosts of My Country" was the last of the Theater of War one-shots, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover I was mistaken. This one deals with a captured Steve Rogers (not Captain America) held prisoner with 20 other POWs in a converted castle. What I said last time still goes: whereas some of these are better than others, they're all good, and this is one of the better ones.
