QUENTIN TARANTINO HEADLINES DYNAMITE 10TH ANNIVERSARY SDCC PANEL

DJANGO/ZORRO, THE COMIC BOOK SEQUEL TO DJANGO UNCHAINED,
TO BE DISCUSSED WITH ATTENDING FANS AS PART OF
DYNAMITE'S 10TH ANNIVERSARY EVENTS

July 15, 2014, Mt. Laurel, NJ:  Dynamite Entertainment is proud to announce that pioneering filmmaker Quentin Tarantino and award-winning writer Matt Wagner will be joining the Dynamite 10th Anniversary Panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2014.  The two master storytellers will discuss bringing two Western icons together in Django / Zorro, the official comic book sequel to the blockbuster film Django Unchained, slated for release in November 2014 from Dynamite Entertainment and DC Entertainment.

On stage, Tarantino and Wagner will join Reginald Hudlin, the co-editor of the Django / Zorro crossover and a producer of the Django Unchained film; Nick Barrucci, CEO and Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment; and Joseph Rybandt, the Senior Editor of Dynamite.

The Dynamite 10th Anniversary Panel will take place on Sunday, July 27th, from 2:15pm to 3:15pm, in Room 6BCF.  The panel will be moderated by Alan Kistler, and is open admission to all ticketed convention attendees.

Dynamite Entertainment released a joint announcement with Zorro Production, Inc. and DC Entertainment on June 18th, announcing the Django / Zorro comic book series scheduled for release later this year.  Tarantino (perhaps best known for his films Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill) and Wagner (of the acclaimed Grendel and Zorro comic books) share plot duties on the new series, with Wagner providing final dialogue and Esteve Polls (The Lone Ranger) illustrating the work.

Regarding the D jango / Zorro crossover, Tarantino says, "I'm very, very excited about both this story and the opportunity to work with Matt.  It was reading his Zorro stories that convinced me what a good idea it was to join these two icons together.  The story idea we came up with is thrilling, and I think it will be an exciting new chapter for both characters."

"We're extremely grateful that San Diego Comic-Con was able to give us such a great time slot for our panel to help cap off the show, and excited that Quentin and Matt will help headline the panel.  We cannot wait to interact with our fans, talk about our upcoming projects, and answer questions," says Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci.

San Diego Comic-Con International is a multigenre entertainment and comic convention held annually at San Diego Convention Center, this year between July 24th and July 27th.  It is the largest convention of any industry in t he Western Hemisphere, with over 130,000 attendees and massive media attention.

But who will these Marvel mavens of cosplay choose as their inspiration?

“After considering so many powerful women of the Marvel Universe, we continued to be drawn back to the Scarlet Witch”, says Cink. “Her recent death in Uncanny Avengers, her upcoming appearance in Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and her stunning redesign by John Cassaday for the Marvel NOW! initiative all played part in our ultimate decision to build her costume. However, the true linchpin for me was that Wanda Maximoff is one of the most complex, dynamic and powerful players in the Marvel Universe - who could resist the opportunity to be her for a day?”

SIN, SEX, & SIGNATURES FOR PUSSYCATS AT SAN DIEGO COMIC CON

Comics publishing house E-Comix will distribute ashcan editions of its titillating action/thriller Pussycats at this year’s San Diego Comic Con to promote its December listing in the PREVIEWS comic shop catalog.

The ashcan previews Pussycats #0 (with a cover by Ray Lago) and the subsequent 4-issue limited series written by E-Comix President & Publisher Vince Brusio, and illustrated by artists Ivica Sretenovic and Mats Engesten.

“Pussycats is Sin City meets Jennifer Blood if we’re talking comics. But Charlie’s Angels meets 24 meets The Blacklist would also work,” says Brusio. “It’s all about women, blood, and bullets caught in a political crossfire when it’s revealed that the adult film industry helped to fight the Cold War. Years of underground espionage bubble to the surface when one woman steps into the middle of territorial pissings, and the repercussions of her curiosity reveal a world where life has no value, and people become uniformed personalities to hide their true identities.”

Legendary adult film star Karen Summer and cosplay personality Tanya Tate have signed onto the project to appear as themselves in the book (with Summer on the cover), and both will be joining Brusio at San Diego Comic Con to sign ashcans and posters for future retailer incentives.

“Karen gets inducted into the Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame in January 2015,” Brusio explains. “And it’s at that Las Vegas event that she’ll promote the comic, and explain how it can be ordered through PREVIEWS, and purchased at brick and mortar comic shops. The Comic Shop Locator Service will be announced as the web site to use to find a store locally.”
