FAMILIAR FACES RETURN TO THE TIMELINE FOR SEASON THREE OF DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW

Neal McDonough, Arthur Darvill and Wentworth Miller Will Be Back as

Damien Darhk, Rip Hunter and Captain Cold, Respectively

BURBANK, Calif. (July 22, 2017) — The time-traveling DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (Tuesdays 9/8c The CW) team will meet some familiar faces as they set about trying to “fix time” in the DC Super Hero series’ third season.

Wentworth Miller and Arthur Darvill (as former Legends Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and Rip Hunter, respectively) will appear in the upcoming season as recurring guest stars, and Neal McDonough returns as a series regular, reprising his role as smug villain Damien Darhk…and a former member of last season’s Legion of Doom.

Based on the characters from DC, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Executive produced by Greg Berlani, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Phil Klemmer and Sarah Schechter, the series returns for season three on Tuesday, October 10, at 9/8c on The CW.

Legends of Tomorrow returns Monday, February 12, in Supergirl's time slot.

With John Constantine! And if the rumors are true, Kid Flash will be joining the team, too.

We watched the Legends mid-season premiere, and it was great fun. Constantine was his usual smarmy self, there was some unexpected sex, there was a nod to Constantine's bisexuality, some great Exorcist-type spooky stuff, plus -- alas! -- the last appearance of Leonard Snart of Earth-10. Oh, and Dahrk shows up, which is always fun.

Plus some great dialogue. For example:

Mental hospital doctor: "So you're a time traveler?"

Snart: "Would you believe I'm also from an alternate Earth?"

Doctor: "Of course you are."

Snart was almost a victim of the state-of-the-art frontal lobotomy.

When his show was on NBC they wouldn't let the titular character smoke. The CW actually let him light up. I don't smoke, but Constantine loses something when he doesn't.

I told my wife that the cigarette and trench coat are more or less Constantine's "costume."

This latest episode was easily my favorite of the series ... ever,  I can't say exactly why, but it really clicked with me.  (I will say that I like the fact that while both Nate and Ray are geeky enough to have a favorite "time loop" story, they're different enough to have different favorites.)

I went into this episode not caring about Zari but by the end I liked her very much. The tease at the end confirmed that Kid Flash is coming aboard.

The conceit of Abba's song "Waterloo" traveling back in time to affect the real battle of Waterloo got the show off to a great start. And compounding the Abba references by titling the show the very appropriate "Here We Go Again" was even better. This is a show has gotten cleverer, and the humor suits it well.

This episode needed the cleverness to hide the fact that it was a "bottle episode," but it worked.

I agree with all the praise! Especially about Zari -- I had no opinion of her at all, had no idea she and Sara were having friction, didn't know who she liked or didn't like. She was a cipher. Now I know who she is.

I'm watching this week's episode and am finding it a chore to get through. Mostly because I don't buy into the premise: the Legends have to save Elvis Presley's nascent career from being stopped before it starts, because without Presley, there's no rock 'n' roll, and without rock 'n' roll, well, life isn't worth living.

I suppose Chuck Berry and Little Richard don't exist in the Legends universe ...

I thought Sam Beckett had this covered already.
