OK, thanks to the power of love and friendship (and that is NOT sarcasm), I've finally gotten to see some of these.
1)I like the new opening OK.
2)"Welcome to what I presume is your first alien planet." "No, we went to Mondas for our school trip."
3)"Venusian Aikido" - there's a callback.
4)"Did I not mention? "I am really smart."
5)The Stenza again. Perhaps they're building them up to be new upper-card heels.
6)"The Timeless Child". Is that this year's "Bad Wolf"?
7)"Come to Daddy...or Mummy..."
8)"You've redecorated. I really like it." Ho-ho-ho...
9)I'm not overwhelmed by the new TARDIS interior. Perhaps it'll grow on me.
Overall: I liked it. I like Whittaker, and I like the new companions, although I'm not yet convinced that they're going to find enough for all of them to do long-term. The story itself was an acceptable runaround.
A good start.
