The Rebel Flesh

1)"My mum's a huge fan of Dusty Springfield."  "Who isn't?"

2)I smell a "base under siege" story.

3)"For want of a better word - owww!"

4)I can't stand these "Who is really who they are?" type stories. Not because it's a bad or invalid story type, it just drives me nuts, never knowing who is really who.

5)There's Nicola Fury again!

6)Cliffhanger: A duplicate Doctor appears!

The Almost People

1)Tom Baker's voice!

2)"Reverse the jelly baby of the neutron flow."

3)"Do we tend to say "yowzah"?

4)"You haven't been here for a long, long time."

5)Cliffhanger: Amy screams!

Overall: An OK story, very reminiscent of the sort of story that the old series used to do fairly frequently.

  • I'm thining the "shock beginning" of "The Impossible Astronaut" has all but been resolved.

One thing our Steven seems to have in common with our Russell is his tendency to write stories with alot of "moments" designed to entertain or shock fanboys...

Speaking of which, I think both RTD and SM have done their bit to set up a future "X Doctors" story, what with a duplicate Tenth stuck in another dimension and a duplicate Eleventh maybe-not-destroyed. both David Tennent and Matt Smith could easily be brought back in these roles in the future without having to account for the aging of the actors.
