I was going through the collection and I realized that the Lost in Space comic and the Galaxy Quest comics never finished the storylines that were ongoing before they ceased publication. Or did I just miss them? Anyone know and are there any other comics like that out there?

  • Do you mean the Innovation Lost in Space? I thought I'd heard that a story left hanging by its cancellation was completed somewhere and it was apparently in this volume from Bubblehead Publishing.

I didn't know there was a Galaxy Quest comic. This page indicates it was announced as a five-issue mini. According to the GCD five issues appeared. Link via Wikipedia's article on the comic.

  • Yea, that was it, I'll have to get that when I get the chance. I might have missed the Galaxy Quest books, I'll have to track them down.

  • I have all of the GalaxyQuest issues. The story definintely finished, as I bought them in a combo pack. (I wouldn't sweat getting it, it was a very nonsensical conclusion).

Of course there could be another Galaxy Quest series that I didn't know about...

  • Despite urban legends, the Black Hole comics sequel from Disney did finish.  It just wasn't fully published in the USA, far as I can tell.

  • Are there other small press comics that never finished storylines? Oh, my, yes!

One of my favorites was Private Beach by David Hahn, a book that would be right at home next to Love and Rockets. It was a slice-of-life story about a twentysomething woman named Trudy Honeyvan and her friends. There was some mystical hoo-ha about Trudy being able to perceive the broader universe in a way the rest of us can't. The book ended with Trudy on a road trip with buddies Siobhan and Sharona, who are twin sisters, and crashing their car before being abducted by aliens. Writer/artist Hahn went on to other projects, including work for Marvel, and never, so far as I know, finished Trudy's story.

  • There was a mini-series called The Lost, which cast Peter Pan & the Lost Boys as vampires that ran for a few issues under one publisher, and then those were eventually reprinted by another publisher, but still stopped before it reached a conclusion.

  • ...In the 90s Marvel issued a MANDRAKE THE MAGICIAN three-issue mini on their Marvel Select line of the time of which only two were published .

Just recently , Brennan published this CASPER AND THE SPECTRALS with kind of interesting " Kid's Vertigo " reworkings of Casper , Wendy , and Hot Stuff...I only obtained one magazine issue , I am unsure whether the advertised two additional parts were issues I, I know for sure that a hyped TPB of all three parts 0- And I even mentioned it here with someone from Brennan re-assuring me after I had commented - never came out !!!!!!!!!

  • '''Ardden , not "
Brennan " as I wrote above (I tried to correct the above but it looks like it will not go up .) !!
