Just wondering, these comics I can afford, but no comic shop around me carries them and the response when I asked about them at Newburry was sort of lukewarm.

It's a publisher of creator-owned work. The company's website has previews for its print comics. Most of them are limited series. Scrimshaw's write-up says it will be a bimonthly ongoing.
The print comics are all listed as starting later this year, so I take it print comics are a new venture for Alterna which might not pan out.
A couple of the items are listed as print comics and graphic novels. The duplicate graphic novels have the same previews, so I assume they're the same stories in a different format.
The digital list has links to Comixology, which has previews for most of the issues I checked.
