I ask because both the current Avengers and Multiversity feature dead heroes from the other company. Over at marvel the heroes are doing it, over at DC it looks to be some big multiverse villain, but it's easy to see who the characters meant to be. I know there's been copy/cameos, but I can't remember them ever resulting in mass death before.

  • In terms of direct battles, I'm not thinking of anything. However, Squadron Supreme had a pretty high body count.

  • Well Avengers is topping anything but Crisis at the moment and I don't think Hickman is done with his bloodlust yet.

  • ...Well , they're no longer sharing the same little rock-supported island (Manhattan) , corporately speaking , so the impetus to keep the peace is gone:-)...

  • Killing each other, no. Insulting, beating up, and putting each other in jail, yes. But beating someone up isn't "awesome" enough for today's audiences, they want to see blood. Obviously I'm not the audience. I can't even imagine why somebody would want to see good guys kill each other. Something in the water these days?

Anybody remember when Squadron Sinister's Whizzer decided he had a dumb name and changed it to Speed Demon? He was still a loser. Are these guys will around, or were they completely replaced by the Squadron Supreme (who last I heard were killing each other)? I know Hyperion eventually was "revealed" to be an android for some reason, and I think he was killed by the Supreme Hyperion, although he went blind. That was enough to make me start avoiding their future appearances. Marvel seemed to enjoy bumping off both versions.

  • I still feel it's wrong that Hyperion (any version) has joined the Avengers.

True Nighthawk was part of the Defenders but at least they altered him from a third-rate Batman to a third-rate Hawkman!

  • And Defenders wasn't a real team. People were expected to come and go when they felt like it. Tossing out the founders and making in an official team with three former X-Men was a bad idea, especially when they left team up with Cyclops and Jean again, and I believe pretty much everybody else except Moondragon got killed. Is Gargoyle still head?

A lof of characters joined that shouldn't have. Wolverine for instance. With the movies they don't need to push sells by tossing their biggest stars in. Spider-Man is supposed to be a loner, not a follower, and definitely not a team leader.

  • They are knocked out rather than killed, but see the cover of Inferior Five #10.

  • The Inferior Five really had the power to beat those guys? What made them inferior then, horrible fashion sense?
