JAY LYNCH , the underground-era cartoonist also remembered for his work on Topps' Wacky Packages and much else , has died . He was 72 and had cancer , apparently going fairly fast after a diagnosis

NARD 'N PAT and PHEOBE AND THE PIGEON PEOPLE (the latter with Gary Whitney) were signature characters . Aside from his pro work , he was than early member of active comics fandom , involved with the " satire fanzines " (more or less amateur MAD/CRACKEDs) of the post -EC years. - Uh , I suppose it is possible that , like many UG folk , he was maybe not too fond of the DC/Marvel Silver Age and beyond superhero stuff that is our meat and two vegs here . That forgiven , if so ?
