I know that when I was buying the collections of the Barry Smith stories the collections were from another publisher. Apparently, Marvel has the rights again.
Dark Horse had Conan for a good many years, and has already reprinted the entire Conan the Barbarian run (although I'm not sure about the Savage Sword of Conan stories.) As you say, looks like Marvel got the rights back to their own stories!
I don't know if they have access to the Dark Horse stories. DH had several Conan series.
