  • Before this goes too far...I should say that this affects distribution to bookstores, not direct market comic shops.
  • I wonder if the whole Amazon/Diamond/Marvel Masterworks kerfuffle was part of the decision.
  • I'll have to check with my FLCS. I'm picking up the Dark Tower comics for a friend. I may have to find another LCS that still picks up Marvel. Otherwise, I'm not worried.
  • Glad I read the whole article first. I was afraid it would be a redux of the Hero's World fiasco. Good to know they're still with Diamond for their monthlies. I guess I don't know enough about the business to judge how much this will impact book sales...

Will they still put out their own previews?

    Mark
One would presume so, Mark. But this move has nothing whatsoever to do with comic shops. It's all about distributing Marvel books to Borders, Barnes & Noble, et al.
Anna: The article says that the snafu you mentioned happened after these things were already in the works.

H'd 1: Doc Beechler wrote and the article makes clear that this does not affect LCS distribution. There's no reason that you shouldn't be able to continue picking up Dark Tower there for your friend.
  • Thanks, Cav. And thanks to Doc as well.
