  • Sure looks like Magneto and Juggernaut in the background.
  • Well at least the T&A is clearly visible.
  • You say that like it's a bad thing.

I'm wondering if Cyclops's team will be made up entirely of former supervillains, thus cementing that he's on the wrong side of the schism. Namor would fit that category as well.

  • I wonder what shape Juggernaut will be after Fear Itself.

Speaking of shapes, is Marvel pushing Emma Frost as one of their elite heroes, taking Jean Grey's place as Scott's lover/confident and Storm's as the most prominent female mutant. And is she truly a hero? With the Hellfire Club apparently returning, there's always some doubt.

I can't see Magneto following Cyclops without some developing scheme that's being kept secret.

Speaking of secrets, Emma's not hiding much! Maybe a little subtlety? Or decorum?

  • Emma was such a model of modesty when she first appeared.

The modern creators are being unfaithful to Claremont and Byrne's not-lecherous-at-all artistic vision.

There should be room for a few female characters who are comfortable putting their assets out there.  Emma is obviously just such a one.  The trouble arrives when you show each and every woman 'putting their assets out there' for the fanboys icky gaze.

One of the reasons normal people point at us and laugh...

  • At least Bryne made her look evil! I still don't know exactly when (or even if) she became "good"!

I remember when Emma, the White Queen and Selene, the Black Queen were pushing the boundries of overt sexiness. Now they look demure next to current female heroes/villains.

  • I believe it was our old pal Grunt Megaton who made her Scott's gal and a big player in the X-Men.  She was probably on the road to redemption before that.  (Or rather the X-Men personality pendulum was swinging that way then.  All mutants swing between good and bad, over and back, all the time.  Must be the X-gene!)

I have all Morrison's NXM issues, but haven't sat down to read them through yet, so I speak on this with negligible authority.

The orginal Hellfire Club and Jean and Scott 4ever are part of my formative experiences, but I'm ok with things moving on.

Change and growth, man, change and growth.

  • How come all Claremont's female character's names scan the same way?

Two syllables and then one syllable

    Colleen Wing

    Misty Knight

    Emma Frost

    Kitty Pryde

    There are probably tons more...

Is there anything that says Uncanny X-Men is "Cyclops's team"? Everything I've seen has been pretty circumspect about what role (if any) Cyclops will have in the X-Men post-Schism.
  • Maybe he has a sex change and dies his hair blond?

    Hubba hubba, Scott!
