Member suspended for repeated violation of No Personal Attacks rule

Moderator John Dunbar here.

Over the last few months, members of the moderating team have had to take the step of deleting a number of posts in various threads on this Board.  This has been done because the Number One Rule of this Board - "No Personal Attacks" - had been violated.  The moderators have, more than once, explained this rule and what it encompasses.  There have been posts made by moderators where a general reminder of the No Personal Attacks rule has been given to all members, without singling out individuals.

Unfortunately, there have been further violations of the No Personal Attacks rule by a few people.  This has resulted in moderators again deleting posts and publicly reprimanding the members in question with a warning.

These are decisions which are not made lightly by the moderating team.  However, when it is necessary, action is taken.

Yesterday, George Poague, who had been given warnings on more than occasion to follow the rules, engaged yet again in what was clearly a personal attack on another member.  Today, the moderating team has agreed that due to repeated violations of the No Personal Attacks rule, and failure to follow the direction to stop this behaivour, George Poague has been suspended from this Board.  Again, this is not a decision made lightly, but it is one that we felt had to be taken.

Anyone with questions may direct them to me, or send me an email if they wish.

On behalf of the Moderating team,

John Dunbar
