Out here in San Francisco , a local movie theater is showing a film titled " BACK TO SPACE-CON " , a documentary about Bay Area Star Trek and scienc fiction conventions in the 70s .

The film would appear to be a fairly low-budget production - it seems to not have a dedicated Web site of its own , here is the theater's site for this week , through Thursday it should be up there:

  • ......( continuing )...in all of its forms interests me !

This year , San Diego's Comic-Con is putting on this " 50 Years Of Comicfandom " reunion/event - I had thought of trying to a film aroound that concept but alas:-(

  • ...Tom Wyrsch is the director of this one .

Franly , their poster ( This more about " media "-ish SF conventions than comics , or ' real " SF , I guess , ones . ) makes me wonder if Paramount won't smack 'em down !

    ...Oh , thank you .
It even seems to be playing somewhat on Bay Area localism/pride somewhat - The " Bay Area " , by the way , is here considered to extebd to 9 counties , the 9 counties that all do have some real estate that boeders upon the San Francisco Bay , so it is a fairly substantial area ! - I wasn't here at that time , so - and seems to be trying to claim that the BA coventions helped lead to...the Trel novies ? Haven't re-read that publicity part yet .
