This interview made me feel a little better about it. I don't have any concrete reason why, but I *do* trust these guys, so maybe it's just hearing one of them talk about it, rather than a marketing guy.
I'm slow on comics reading (usually I wait till it's collected, commented on and reprinted), so I do not claim to have my finger on the pulse, but I thought the point of Infinite Crisis was that the supers needed to be better at being heroes, which I took as an implicit rejection of this kind of thing. The JSA early issues (of this volume) were about getting the youngsters together, living in a cool mansion and being a multi-generational, fighting force with a nostalgic legacy.
I was hoping for a few years of Roy Thomas/All-Star Squadron type stuff
