  • Nothing - not for me

  • Halloween:

    Halloween (1978)

    Halloween II (1981)

Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)

Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)

Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)

Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later (1998)

    Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

    Halloween (2018)

    Halloween Kills (2021)

    Halloween Ends (2022)

Rob Zombie takes a stab at it:

    Halloween (2007)

    Halloween II (2009)

I have watched the first multiple times. It's a horror film classic.

The second one convinced me that I should avoid the sequels.

The third, sometimes referred to as The Season of the Which franchise is this part of? at least tries to do something different, but it's a mediocre film, passable if you're a fan of the genre and that's about it.

Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later (1998) a sequel to the first one that ignores all of the others, as I have.

Halloween (2018) aka Halloween 2018: a solid sequel which also ignores all other sequels, including the previous sequels that ignored previous sequels.

I'm adopting a "wait and see" attitude about the last two, still to be released, which are sequels to the 2018 film.

I also slogged through Rob Zombie's 2007 bloated and entirely unnecessary remake, a bloated, fairly boring and entirely unnecessary remake that I found bloated and entirely unnecessary. Others disagree, of course.  Zombie wanted to remake one of his favorite movies without really understanding what made the original so good. Did I mention that I found Zombie's remake bloated? And unnecessary? Because sometimes, I know, I can be a little restrained about expressing my opinions.

  • So, you're a big fan of the Rob Zombie re-make, is what you're saying.

    Well, really, who wouldn't be?

  • Final Destination has 5 films:

    Final Destination (2000)

    Final Destination 2 (2003)

    Final Destination 3 (2006)

    The Final Destination (2009)

    Final Destination 5 (2011)

And a sixth is in the works supposedly

  • Someone needs to look up the word "final."
  • Rather recalls how The Neverending Story has a sequel.

Or the ep of Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated where they face down the Lovecraftian "Char Gar Gothakon, the Beast that Hath No Name."

  • When I saw the 2000 movie in the theater, the last moments before the credits had a character's barbequed arm plop down in front of the camera. I laughed out loud. I think everyone else was taking it seriously.
