If the benchmark of "long-running" is a minimum of six, how about the Bring It On series? From the genre of the Inspirational Sports Movie, featuring rival cheerleading squads in a battle for the championship. The wrinkle? The rich (and white) school's team has won past championships by copying moves from the poor (and Black) school's team. The captain of the defending team discovers this chicanery perpetrated by her predecessors and agonizes over how to make it right.
All of the sequels went straight to video, all of them follow the exact same plot, and none of them include actors from any of the previous ones.
Just for kicks and giggles, there's one coming up next year that marries the Inspirational Sports Movie with the Halloween franchise.

Over time, while perusing the TV schedule of Turner Classic Movies, I've seen several listings for "Mexican Spitfire" movies, or which there were eight. I haven't watched one yet, but Wikipedia tells me that the titular character is played by an actual Mexican actress (Lupe Velez) and that the stories skewer the attitudes towards Latinos. Now I'm looking forward to seeing them.
The Girl from Mexico (1939)
Mexican Spitfire (1940)
Mexican Spitfire Out West (1940)
The Mexican Spitfire's Baby (1941)
Mexican Spitfire at Sea (1942)
Mexican Spitfire Sees a Ghost (1942)
Mexican Spitfire's Elephant (1942)
Mexican Spitfire's Blessed Event (1943)
You know, you're going to get quoting as a source on a non-existent Baby Huey film series.
However, the Mr Wong films consist of:
Boris Karloff:
Mr Wong, Detective (1938)
The Mystery of Mr. Wong (1939)
Mr. Wong in Chinatown (1939)
The Fatal Hour (1940)
Doomed to Die (1940)
Keye Luke:
Phantom of Chinatown (1940)
As I mentioned, I've only seen the last one, which take place at the start of Wong's career. Phantom is a prequel or perhaps a reboot that never led to other films.
Nancy Drew: (TV series excluded. There appear to have been a few)
Bonita Granville:
Nancy Drew... Detective (1938)
Nancy Drew... Reporter (1939)
Nancy Drew... Trouble Shooter (1939)
Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (1939)
Maggie Lawson (Made for TV)
Nancy Drew (2002)
Emma Roberts:
Nancy Drew (2007)
Sophia Lillis:
Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (2019)
Whichever one of these is real might have qualified as a war crime two decades earlier.

That last Presley film should be Change of Habit. It's about plainclothes nuns.
I happened to watch Charro! yesterday. It's a so-so dramatic Western. Presley doesn't make much of his role, but the script doesn't give him much to do. The only song is the one Presley sings over the opening titles.
Jeepers, kids!
CK, glad to put your series up there, but if some are straight-to-video, mark 'em that way. I've been backfilling on some of the horror series for that, and it's more work than I'm willing to do.
So, everyone: If your movie wasn't released to actual theaters, that's cheating, so at least do me the courtesy of marking it that way on the front end. I'll still add it, but with a parenthetical.
A comprehensive list of ALFRED HITCHCOCK movies would be nice (but don't ask me to provide it).
On the chance PP was just spitballin', I can take The Marx Brothers off his hands.

There's also The Story of Mankind (1957) which features all three brothers in separate cameos, but I don't count that one myself.
Here are The Thin Man films!
Quick note: Nick Charles is NOT the titled Thin Man! That's actually the victim of the first (and only) book but the name stuck.
THE THIN MAN (Nick & Nora Charles) all by MGM
The Thin Man (1934)
After the Thin Man (1936)
Another Thin Man (1939)
Shadow of the The Thin Man (1941)
The Thin Man Goes Home (1945)
Song of the Thin Man (1947), though the first time that I read about it, it was listed as "Son of the Thin Man".
Sherlock Holmes is beyond me!
