The New Golden Age from DC Starts This November

Spinning out of the Conclusion of Flashpoint Beyond, The New Golden Age Starts The Strangest Mystery to Ever Plague the DC Universe

Justice Society of America Return in An On-Going Series by Geoff Johns and Mikel Janín

Six-Issue Stargirl: The Lost Children On Sale November 15 by Geoff Johns and Todd Nauck

From the 1940s to the 3040s, great heroes across the DC timeline take on the great evils of their era. But in the aftermath of Flashpoint Beyond, those heroes and villains will have their lives turned upside down, from the past to the far future. The New Golden Age one-shot from Geoff Johns lands at comic book shops on November 8th and will unlock DC’s epic and secret-ridden history of heroism, launching a new group of titles with JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA and STARGIRL: THE LOST CHILDREN.

“I’m happy to be writing these two titles, each one of them focused on celebrating and expanding the history (and far future) of heroism in the DC Universe, exploring unseen heroes, villains and adventures alongside the ones we all know and love,” said Geoff Johns. “Our goal is to delve into the neglected corners of DC with this new group of titles, from the JSA to the Legion, and all those who operate between. It’s the story of where superheroes came from, where they’re going and why they’re always needed.”

DC’s future...and its past...will never be the same again. But how are Mime and Marionette connected to this? Why are Rip Hunter and the Time Masters the most unlikable heroes in the DC Universe? And who or what is...Nostalgia? Don’t miss the start of the strangest mystery to have ever plagued the DC Universe.

A long-lost hero from the JSA crashes into our era with a grave warning...but it’s too late. A mysterious and malevolent enemy has invaded the entire history of the JSA, and an all-new team must come together to defeat it. But what deadly secret does this messenger from beyond keep? Where are they from? And why is all of this happening now? Only the Time Masters know…

“There will be familiar faces re-joining the team, like Jay Garrick and Alan Scott, as well as long-lost members returning, like Beth Chapel and Yolanda Montez, and a new Golden Age legacy hero first hinted at in the end of Flashpoint Beyond. Mikel Janin is doing the work of his career on this,” added Johns.

Justice Society of America is an on-going monthly title written by Johns, featuring art by Mikel Janín (Batman), and the first issue will be available at local comic book shops on November 22.

Now is the winter of our discontinued publishing line.

Made glorious summer by this two-part, friggin awesome slate of comic books!

That's right, BAD IDEA is officially back, baby!

Rejoice, fellow BAD IDEA fans, or lament and curse the comic gods if you're a hater, but be warned, we have plans for you haters, you just wait. -.-

BAD IDEA is not just back, it's bigger, badder and filled to the brim with comics. We may have been "over", but we certainly weren't idle. Team BAD IDEA was hard at work building a massive reservoir of new comics. So massive that one slate of books could not contain it all.

Allow us to introduce to you, the next evolution of the comic book medium: BAD IDEA TWO -- a mammoth two-part slate of comic books to rival any that have come before. Built to levels of mind-blowing awesome that are so staggering they have to be seen to be believed. These are the types of comics you can only make if you're solely focused on creating them and not distracted by the printing or selling or marketing.

BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE consists of seven mind-melting, long box-busting titles of pure comic book brilliance by, what is without a doubt, the greatest collection of writers and artists ever convened. An assemblage of comics so guaranteed to excite and dazzle that we're going to offer them for a very special blind pre-order!

No details about the BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE stories, titles or the creators will be revealed until Thursday, September 8th. However, one day prior to the unveiling, we will be holding the BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE PRE-ORDER DAY event -- a chance to pre-order all seven of the books in the big BAD IDEA return and guarantee nothing BAD IDEA-y prevents you from completing your BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE collection.

Here's how the BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE PRE-ORDER DAY event works:

  1. BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE is made up of seven titles (15 issues) on-sale between November and February.
  2. Connect with any BAD IDEA Destination Store ONLY on Wednesday, September 7th (in-person or by any other means accepted by the store).
  3. Pre-order all seven of the BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE titles with your store. You are pre-ordering blind. No titles. No story details. No creative teams. Only the cover price and number of issues will be released by September 7th. Consult your store for their pre-order requirements.
  4. If you're one of the first 10 people to pre-order all seven titles at your store, you will be awarded a swanky BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE redemption sticker.
  5. The sticker can be used to redeem, from BAD IDEA, an extra, alternate, and exclusive story choice for one of the soon-to-be-revealed books in the BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE line-up. WTF is a story choice? Oh boy, just you wait.

Miss the BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE PRE-ORDER DAY and you'll miss the BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE redemption sticker, along with the extra, alternate, and exclusive story choice it redeems. But, rest easy, you'll still be able to pre-order any or all of the BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE line-up until each book's order deadline. Probably, I mean unless we’re forced to lock orders after the pre-order. But that wouldn't happen, would it?

Curious if there will be new BAD IDEA Destination Stores added for BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE? There will, indeed! A full list of new and returning BAD IDEA Destination Stores will be announced tomorrow, Friday, August 19th.

And what of BAD IDEA TWO: PART TWO? That's a tale for another day. All we can say is that -- and this is in full sincerity -- BAD IDEA TWO: PART ONE and BAD IDEA TWO: PART TWO are without a doubt the best assemblage of stories any of us at BAD IDEA have ever been a part of.

NEWS ALERT: SCOUT COMICS & COMICS ON COFFEE - Ranger Stranger #1 Along With A 12 oz. Bag Of Ranger Stranger Coffee Is Now Available!

AUGUST 18, 2022 - SCOUT COMICS & ENTERTAINMENT HOLDINGS, one of the fastest growing independent comic companies, is partnering with the Fort Myers-based company COMICS ON COFFEE to launch a series of Scout Comics inspired coffee flavors and collectible comics.

Scout’s President, James Haick III, said of the partnership, “We here at Scout couldn’t be more excited about partnering with Tanya & Tony Scholl and their amazing coffee company. We can’t wait to share the cool coffee flavors and titles we have coming out.”

Our fourth release will be the metal cover comic and 12 ounce coffee combo pack of the ultra popular comic RANGER STRANGER,  A limited edition (individually numbered out of 100) metal cover is now available while supplies last at www.scoutcomics.com

Bueller, from the acclaimed YouTube channel “COMICS WITH BUELLER,” sat down with co-owner Tony Scholl of Comics on Coffee to discuss this new partnership.

For those out there that are unfamiliar with Comics On Coffee, What makes you unique & not just another coffee company?

Aside from roasting our own specialty grade coffees & having a direct trade relationship with the coffee farmers; we love everything comics. That’s why every bag of coffee we make isn’t just great on the inside, its great on the outside too. Each bag reflects the art, stories, and even the feel of the comics they portray. There’s something special about seeing a character or title on a coffee bag; the very fuel that helped these writers, and artists complete such awesomeness.

What is this team up with Scout Comics all about?

Both companies are dedicated to the comic book community and the creators who work tirelessly to deliver titles that keep us thirsty for more. At Comics On Coffee, we love to work with creators to bring custom coffees to life. From the flavor to the art, we strive to create a product that reflects each creators vision for what coffee would be like in their world… and that’s where Scout comes in.

Scout has been so awesome to work with, giving us access to all of their titles, creators, and visions. Then they go a step further and collaborate projects to help make everything we create as authentic as possible.

What is this Team-up about?

It’s about working together to release super rare comic books, bundled with coffee bags that are designed specifically to match. Each bundle also includes a digital copy of the first issue. So frame that amazingly rare book, open up your digital copy, and sit back with a great tasting coffee so unique that it must be from a comic book world.

Can you tell us a little bit about the first product being released and what makes it so special?

The first bundle will be epic! It’s a limited edition release of the number one key issue of The Recount. This will be a never before seen metal cover that is only available in this bundle. It comes with a matching Coffee bag and a digital copy of the first issue so you don’t have to crack open your amazing metal cover just to get into the story.

Tell us about a normal day at Comics On Coffee.

For me it’s pretty simple. I start up the roaster then begin to prepare the green coffee...I watch each batch roast carefully, maintaining the proper temperature and roasting profile for what I’m trying to create. After every roast I taste-test as sample from each batch to make sure it’s showing all the right flavors, bold notes, and smooth aftertaste; which of course is always my favorite part.

Tanya likes to start her day with a cup of Lightspeed. It’s our high caffeine coffee for the quick wake up that she needs. She then continues checking emails and fulfilling orders. Around lunch time she stops for another cup of one of our flavored coffees, generally the Santa’s X-Mas or The Third Wave Blueberry. After a quick lunch she spends the afternoon designing upcoming coffee bags or K-pod boxes. Occasionally, she has a comic book cover to draw.

What are you most excited about in your partnership with Scout moving forward?

In the short time we have been working with Scout Comics we have seen time and again examples of how Scout Comics is always thinking outside the box, from comic tags to their recently released Pressworks printer plates, Scout Comics is not afraid to take a chance and create something new. We love this because we adore the comic book industry, and we believe this kind of out of the box thinking will revolutionize this industry, it will add value and freshness to this market and make comic books exciting in new ways. Here at Comics On Coffee we are delighted to be able to work with Scout and be a small part of that.

Over 15 Special ‘90s Themed Variant Covers in November

Batman/Spawn: The Classic Collection Arrives Before December’s Batman/Spawn #1

The 1990s brought about some of the greatest moments in comics, including Wildstorm’s debut, Batman/Spawn crossovers, The Death of Superman and amazing covers that were reflective of the unique time in history. This November, DC is celebrating everything 90s with new Wildstorm and WildC.A.T.s comic series, special variant covers, reprints of classic comics and more.

Spinning from the pages of Batman: Urban Legends, writer Matthew Rosenberg (Batman: Urban Legends; Task Force Z) and Artist Stephen Segovia (I Am Batman; Spawn) are bringing back WildC.A.T.s for the first on-going series in over a decade! The team must work together in the shadows of the DC Universe to make the world a better place but they quickly come across one of their biggest threats, The Court of Owls!

"WildC.A.T.S. has always been a mix of everything I love in comics,” said Writer Matthew Rosenberg. “From the very first issue it exploded off the pages with the coolest characters, the most gorgeous art, the craziest ideas, and it was never afraid to be subversive, go harder, and push things further than its contemporaries. Now we're smashing all of that good stuff full speed into the heart of the DC Universe. I'd say we're going to be respectful and try not to break things...but that would be a lie."

WILDC.A.T.S. #1

Spinning from the pages of BATMAN comes the senses-shattering new series! The HALO Corporation has gathered a motley crew of operatives, led by Cole “Grifter” Cash, who are going to make the world a better place...no matter who they have to kill! Working in the shadows of the DC Universe, this new covert team has been tasked with gathering an elite group of scientists for the first phase of their plan...but the ‘Cats mysterious leader, Void, might have other plans!

The celebration of the WildStorm anniversary continues with the four-issue Waller vs. WildStorm miniseries from DC’s Black Label. Deep in the heart of the American intelligence apparatus, an ambitious young woman named Amanda Waller has some dangerous ideas about how metahumans can help to end the Cold War, and she’s willing to cut straight through Stormwatch’s Jackson King—and investigative journalist Lois Lane—to make them a reality. Waller Vs. WildStorm teams up national-security reporter Spencer Ackerman (The Daily Beast, Reign of Terror) with comics and video game writer Evan Narcisse (Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Gotham Knights) and veteran artist Eric Battle (Aquaman, Kobalt) for a story that combines the tone of pitch-black spy thrillers like Sleeper and StormWatch with DC’s Deathstroke, Checkmate, and Suicide Squad!

WALLER VS. WILDSTORM # 1

In the early 1980s, as the Cold War stubbornly refuses to thaw, a new battle heats up...for the soul of the intelligence agency Checkmate. As the agency’s super-heroic public face, Jackson King—a.k.a. The armored Battalion, former leader of Stormwatch and the symbol of American might—has long suspected that Adeline Kane is up to dirty tricks overseas, engineering horrors that betray everything he believes about service to one’s country. But King doesn’t know that Kane has a clever new ally—an ambitious young woman named Amanda Waller. She has her own ideas about how metahumans can serve their country. And honor, dignity, and long lives don’t factor into them... National-security reporter Spencer Ackerman (The Daily Beast, Reign of Terror), comics and video game writer Evan Narcisse (Black Panther, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Batman: Gotham Knights -Gilded City), and veteran artist Eric Battle (Aquaman, Kobalt) celebrate WildStorm’s legacy of espionage-flavored superhero morality plays, pitting Stormwatch against the deadliest people in the DCU—including Deathstroke himself!

SUPERSTAR LORENZO DE FELICI LAUNCHES NEW PRESTIGE SERIES KROMA THIS FALL FROM SKYBOUND

Meet the Savage and Beautiful Kroma November 2022

LOS ANGELES 08/18/2022 — Skybound today announced the launch of Kroma, a new comic book series being written, drawn, and colored by creator Lorenzo De Felici (Oblivion Song) that promises to take readers on a breathtaking adventure like none other, filled with strange creatures and unparalleled beauty. Kroma by Lorenzo De Felici #1 will arrive in comic book shops November 2, 2022.

“Prepare for a hellish descent in the visible spectrum,” said Lorenzo De Felici. “This story will put a new fear in hue.”

Imprisoned in a tower within the walls of the Pale City, Kroma lives her days out in darkness, believing she is the most evil creature alive. However, where her people see a monster, the mysterious orphan Zet sees a human. But if either of them are to survive the city’s strange rituals and customs, they will have to overcome the cruel fate of Kroma...even if it means risking certain death beyond the walls in the jaws of giant lizards and enormous birds of prey.

“Lorenzo is a legit comic book triple threat—writing, drawing, and coloring this jaw-dropped new series,” said Sean Mackiewicz, SVP/Publisher at Skybound. “The world already knew Lorenzo was a brilliant artist with OBLIVION SONG, and everything he did there—creating an action-packed world populated by aliens, creatures, and strange technology—is taken to the next level in KROMA. Also, he’s a fantastic cook. What can’t he do?!”

The world and titular character of Kroma recently made their first appearance to critical acclaim in the blockbuster Skybound X #25, available in comic shops and via digital providers now.

In addition to the main cover by De Felici, the Kroma variant cover program will include two covers by rotating artists, including a colored dressed cover and a 1:10 black & white full art incentive cover, as well as a 1:25 black & white full art incentive cover by De Felici. The Kroma #1 variant lineup sports two striking covers by acclaimed multihyphenate creator James Harren (Ultramega).

CHARLES SOULE & WILL SLINEY’S HELL TO PAY PROMISES HELLBOY MEETS INDIANA JONES ACTION IN SNEAK PREVIEW REVEAL

PORTLAND, Ore. 08/18/2022 — Bestselling author Charles Soule (Eight Billion Genies, Undiscovered Country) teams up with fan-favorite artist Will Sliney (Spider-Man) for the upcoming series Hell to Pay, which was first announced via livestream. This all-new supernatural adventure is best described as Hellboy meets Indiana Jones and is set to launch from Image Comics this November.

“I love horror stories, especially gnarly, supernaturally-tinged tales—but I haven’t been able to play with that kind of storytelling much since my run on Swamp Thing almost a decade ago. I’ve been meaning to tell a really big story with Will Sliney for ages too—we’ve known each other since the early days of our careers. I feel very lucky that Hell to Pay gives me a chance to do both," said Soule. "The story here is high-concept and thrilling—basically, you can get magic... but on credit, and your soul is the collateral. Clearing that debt... easier said than done. I think this story will be very relatable to anyone living in today’s world.

It’s also the start of something really big. Will and I are kicking things off with Hell to Pay... but we intend to tell stories in this world for a good long time to come.”

In Hell to Pay, readers meet married young couple Maia and Sebastian Stone. Years ago, they made a deal with the mysterious Shrouded College to give them magic... but they incurred a debt. Until it’s paid, their lives are not their own. Maia and Sebastian have worked for the College ever since, using their new abilities to track down 666 cursed coins: qurrakh…aka, the Devil’s Dollar. Only a few remain. The Stones are almost free…but the devil’s in the details.

Sliney added: "This is the beginning of something really special, that Charles and I have been planning for a long time. It's a the debut of a giant new world, built around a very relatable story."

Hell to Pay #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 2:

  • Hell to Pay #1 Cover A by Dave Johnson - Diamond Code SEP220027
  • Hell to Pay #1 Cover B by Sliney - Diamond Code SEP220028

Hell to Pay #1 will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.

GENEVIEVE VALENTINE, ANNIE WU & MING DOYLE KICK PERSEPHONE MYTH INTO HIGH GEAR WITH TWO GRAVES THIS NOVEMBER

PORTLAND, Ore. 08/18/2022 — Image Comics is pleased to present a unique new series from writer Genevieve Valentine (Catwoman), illustrated in competing points of view by Annie Wu (Hawkeye, Black Canary) and Ming Doyle (The Banks, DC Comics: Anatomy of a Metahuman) in the forthcoming series, Two Graves. This contemporary Persephone myth retelling is set to launch in November.

"This undead road trip, through vanishing forests and motels in towns that never were, is an absolute blast to write," said Valentine. "Having dual points of view for Death and Emilia was the initial spark behind the book, and I'm so thrilled that Ming and Annie—my dream artists for this—are sharing the wheel with me to shape this story."

Emilia and the man with the veil of smoke have set out for the ocean in a stolen truck. There’s a bloody handprint on his neck. She’s beginning to worry it's hers.

Death and the Maiden go on a road trip. Nobody makes it home alive.

Wu added: "Genevieve and Ming have been doing stunning, thoughtful work, and I've pushed myself out of my comfort zone to meet them at their level. I can't wait for readers to see what we've been putting together. Fans of the strange and darkly beautiful, get in here."

"Working on Two Graves with this team has been inspiring, renewing, and almost meditative at times," said Doyle. "In the past few years I've become more acquainted with death than ever before, as we all must if we live long enough. It has been incredibly rewarding, continuing to create around it with such talented company."

Two Graves #1 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, November 9:

  • Two Graves #1 Cover A by Wu - Diamond Code SEP220018
  • Two Graves #1 Cover B by Doyle - Diamond Code SEP220019

Two Graves #1 will also be available across many digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play.

CREEPSHOW #3: SKYBOUND UNVEILS CREATORS, STORIES & COVERS

Superstar Lineup Includes Francesco & L Marlow Francavilla, Ariela Kristantina, and Jorge Corona

LOS ANGELES 08/18/2022 — Today Skybound announced the all-star creative teams and stories behind Creepshow #3, the upcoming issue of the hugely anticipated five-issue comic book anthology based on Greg Nicotero’s hit Shudder TV series produced and licensed by Cartel Entertainment. Creepshow #3 will arrive in comic book shops on November 23, 2022.

In the spirit of all iterations of Creepshow in pop culture, each issue of the Creepshow comic anthology series comes packed with two spine-chilling stories.

First, Francesco Francavilla (Night of the Ghoul, Detective Comics) and L Marlow Francavilla welcome you to a barbershop where the locals share tales of their greatest kills, and the hunters can just as easily become prey.

"We have always been HUGE fans of the CREEPSHOW franchise from the very first movie by George Romero and Stephen King, until the recent TV series by (dear friend) Greg Nicotero, so you can imagine how EXCITED we were when Skybound invited us to join this book with our own spooky tale," said Francesco Francavilla.

"One of the side effects of the pandemic was spending more time at home in our own backyard and making friends with some very cute and smart raccoons and possums,” added L Marlow Francavilla. “Our conversations about their lives and adventures, and how they are perceived and treated was a huge inspiration for this story."

Then, Ariela Kristantina (Chain) and Jorge Corona (The Me You Love in the Dark) journey to a temple hidden within an island paradise, where many visit, but not everyone leaves.

“As a lifelong horror and macabre fan, it's an absolute joy for me to contribute to the Creepshow anthology as a writer,” said Ariela Kristantina. “Most Indonesians coexist peacefully with the supernatural/superstition instances daily and the creepiest of folklores, many of which overlap with the natives' cultures and religions. It's very satisfying to share a story inspired by my values and background. On top of that, I get to collaborate with Jorge, one of my roommates/best friends since college. I witness him excel in various genres --from superheroes to young adult fantasy –so I'm excited to see the final pages!”

“Being a huge fan of horror, I was ecstatic by the opportunity to add something to the world of Creepshow but, to also work alongside Ariela Kristantina? A creator I truly admire! A longtime friend! A former college roommate who I've witnessed being as creepy and macabre as the story she wrote for this anthology! Well, I've seen enough to know that I shouldn't say no to this one,” said Jorge Corona. “Add to that the reunion with collaborators Alex Antone and Jean-Francois Beaulieu and you can bet it's going to be a fun ride!"

In addition to the main cover by Chris Burnham, Creepshow #3 comes with an impressive lineup of variant covers, including a cover by Francesco Francavilla and a 1:10 incentive cover by Vance Kelly.

The lineup behind this Creepshow issue joins the first-class roster of creative teams from the worlds of comics, film, television, and beyond working on the anthology, including Chris Burnham (Die! Die! Die!), Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series), Stephen Langford (Creepshow TV series), John McCrea (Hitman), David & Maria Lapham (Stray Bullets), Steve Foxe (Razorblades: The Horror Magazine), Erica Henderson (Assassin Nation, Dracula, Motherf**ker), and Steve Orlando (Spider Man 2099), with many more to be announced. Brian Witten is overseeing on behalf of Nicotero’s Monster Agency Productions. Each issue of the five-part anthology will feature uniquely horrifying standalone stories guaranteed to SCARE YOU TO DEATH.

The Creepshow comic miniseries deal was brokered by Striker Entertainment.

Creepshow #3 (of 5) will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, comiXology, and Google Play on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
