I did not know that Alan Young had passed away! I have been watching him in Mr. Ed since I was a kid! I really liked Mr Ed too....I mean the horse! I always wondered how they could train a horse to move his lips like he was really talking! Alan Young also did a good performance in the Time Machine! Every time that his scene came up....he had aged. Lots of good make up and special effects for the time (1960). No CGI back then!
I don't know if it's true, but I heard that they put peanut butter on the horse's lips top make it look as though it was talking.
I remember him mostly from the Time Machine, Mr. Ed was never really in re-runs around my way.
I watched a Mr. Ed episode a few days ago. Jon Provost, Lassie's Timmy, was in it.
