The Film: A 1967 South Korean Godzilla knock-off. Cheesy,but watchable.
The Host Segments: Jonah and the Bots compare their dreams. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present the Tiny Desk. The Mads present Hitler Coffee, which even they immediately regret. Jonah discusses the kinds of music astronauts listen to. Tom tries to sell Jonah on a Yongary-themed night club. Jonah and the Bots discuss which monsters they'd like to be friends with. Laterthey sing about what to do when movies hurt too much.
Overall: Another good episode, perhaps my favorite of the revival so far.

Show 1110: "Wizards of the Lost Kingdom", first broadcast 4/14/2017
The Film: From 1985, a boy wizard and a dissolute swordsman must overcome an evil wizard (played by Thom Christopher from Buck Rogers). Fairly cheesy.
The Host Segments: Max writes of his love for Kinga, then finds a strange robot. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present Verbal Smoke Bombs. The Mads invent the Sponsor Clock. Jonah and the Bots discuss how Kor could be called a "conqueror". Jonah (as Kor) sings a song to encourage Servo (as Simon). Jonah reads some letters. Later, he presents the Suicide Cave Playset. The Mads threaten a sequel.
Overall: Terrible movie, pretty good episode.

Show 1111: "Wizards of the Lost Kingdom II", first broadcast 4/14/2017
The Film: From 1989, a "sequel" that has nothing at all to do with the first one. Somehow contrives to make the first film look coherent and well-made by comparison. Look for David Carradine half-arsing his way to what I can only assume was a desperately-needed paycheck.
The Host Segments: It's raining on the Moon, somehow. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present GIF Notes. The Mads riposte with Punt Bunnies. Moon 14 has another leak. Jonah pushes the Dark One's Renaissance Inn and Grille franchise. Later, Jonah and the Bots discuss wizard comedy. Pearl, Brain Guy and Bobo happen by. Kinga seeks Pearl's advice.Pearl is unhelpful. Kinga decides to marry Jonah as a publicity stunt. Jonah recommends good movies, and the Mads get drawn into it.
Overall: Another terrible movie leads to a pretty good episode.

Show 1112: "Carnival Magic", first broadcast 4/14/2017
The Film: From 1981, an odd little picture about a stage magician and a talking chimp, and how they save a struggling carnival.
The Host Segments: Servo gives a "TOM Talk". Kinga announces her betrothal to Jonah. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present the Yeast-a-Pet. The Mads answer with Flavor Sweat. Jonah and the Bots play Markov and Alexander. Crow and Servo are state troopers using obscure CB jargon. P. T. Mindslap (Mark Hamill) stops by and wants to buy Jonah and the Bots for his scam circus. (Hamill is very good here, entertaining where Seinfeld was not.) The Mads quickly see him off. The Mads "call" a carnival parade. We briefly see a glimpse of another host with the Bots.
Overall: An OK episode.

Show 1113: "The Christmas That Almost Wasn't", first broadcast 4/14/2017
The Film: From 1966, "Il Natale Che Quasi Non Fu" is a lightweight kiddie film in which Santa has trouble with his landlord but meets the only lawyer in human history who forgets to bill his clients.
The Host Segments: It's Christmas time on the SOL. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present the Re-Gifter. The Mads reply with Humbug FM. Jonah and the Bots critique Santa's toy-making methods, and later discuss the weird toys in the movie. Santa (Joel) visits the SOL along with Mr. Whipple (Elliott Kalan). Jonah and the Bots and the Mads exchange gifts in series of stills.
Overall: An OK episode, but not as good as either of the old series' Christmas episodes.

Show 1114: "At the Earth's Core", first broadcast 4/14/2017
The Film: From 1976, this features Peter Cushing (in a role very similar to his "Doctor Who") as a scientist who develops a mole machine and Doug McClure as his American sidekick, on an adventure to the subterranean realm of Pellucidar, where they help overthrow the evil Mahars. Caroline Munro appears as McClure's love interest.
The Host Segments: Jonah and the bots have a pre-wedding heart-to-heart. Jonah introduces Growler, a piano-playing robot he has made. Crow and Servo take an immediate dislike to him. The Manager of the Observer Hivemind (Paul Chaplin, who played an Observer on the old show) arranges for Observers to fill seats at Kinga's wedding. (I gather the "Observers" at the wedding were Kickstarter backers.) For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present Permanent Temporary Tattoos. The Mads present the Rip Taylor Urn Cannon. Jonah gives the Bots a steampunk make-over. Crow is a Mahar. Doug McClure (Joel McHale) gives Max romantic advice. Pearl, Bobo and Brain Guy show up for the wedding. Max disrupts the wedding, using Reptilicus Metallicus to apparently kill Jonah. Crow and Servo reconcile with Growler.Over the closing credits, we see a figure in a space suit walking on the outside of the SOL.
Overall: An OK wrap-up. It'll be interesting to see where (if anywhere) they go from here.

Show 1201: "Mac and Me" , first broadcast 11/22/2018
The Film: From 1988, this was a fairly blatant knock-off of ET, with a leavening of heavy-handed product placement.
The Host Segments: Jonah survived last season, but Crow and Servo don't care how. The Mads announce "The Gauntlet", in which Jonah and the Bots must watch six movies in a row. For the Invention Exchange, the Mads present Algernon, the intelligence-enhancement drug that makes you smart enough to realize that you shouldn't take it. Jona and the Bots present SPEZ, a SPAM PEZ dispenser. Jonah tires to communicate like the aliens in the movie. Servo gets a "McDonah's" birthday party. The Mads re-brand themselves as "Burger Kinga" and "Office Max". Kinga forces Jonah and the Bots to build new slots in the movie rack.
Overall: Another OK episode. Nothing special, but watchable.

Show 1202: "Atlantic Rim" , first broadcast 11/22/2018
The Film: From 2013, this is a tolerable knock-off of Pacific Rim, more watchable than Mac and Me.
The Host Segments: An intruder in a space ship raids the Gizmonic Institute. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present the Inflatable Air Dancer Organ, which looks like something someone should have actually invented. The Mads counter with Supposi-stories. The Mads make the Bots wear mech-suits and demand a song to match last season's "Every Country Has a Monster". Jonah and the Bots brag about how they got their medals, like the protagonist in the story. Jonah and the Bots drink to the memory of all the people killed in the story.
Overall: I liked this. One of their better episodes.

Show 1203: "Lords of the Deep" , first broadcast 11/22/2018
The Film: From 1989, this is a knock-off of The Abyss, in which a deep sea exploration ream discovers an unusual life form in the deeps.
The Host Segments: Jonah and the Bots are doing maintenance work on Moon 13. They are obviously up to something. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present the Hand Dryer Air Hockey Table. The Mads present Threatening Drone Probes. The Bots have a strange goop (like in the movie) that compels Jonah to tell shameful personal secrets. The Mads present Good Morning! With Kinga and Max. Their guest is Dr. Donna St. Phibes (Deanna Rooney, Jonah Ray's real-life wife), who shows them a "Lord of the Deep" which literally blows their minds.
Overall: Another fairly good episode.

Show 1204: "The Day Time Ended", first broadcast 11/22/2018
The Film: From 1980, a film in which an extended family gets caught up in a time warp. Kind of a confusing mess, even by MST3K standards.
The Host Segments: Jonah and the Bots are still working in Moon 13. They are drinking too much coffee. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present Fortune Meals. The Mads present Spray-On Mustard Gas. Jonah and the Bots grill steaks like men. Jonah, the Bots and the Mads sing about doctoring the script. Dr. Forrester's spaceship, the Pretty Lady, visits Moon 13, piloted by none other than the long-missing Dr. Laurence Erhardt! He reveals that he left Deep 13 all those years ago to go on a journey of self-discovery. He also reveals that he was the one who raided the Gizmonic Institute two episodes ago, having stolen the ashes of Dr. Forrester and TV’s Frank because he had promised that he’d scatter Forrester’s ashes over the planet Mearth (a mysterious world between Mars and Earth) while playing the song “Idiot Control Now” from Show 303 “Pod People”. (He took Frank’s ashes because they were there, and why break up a team? Although, since Frank was assumed into Second Banana Heaven in Show 624 “Samson vs. the Vampire Women”, I don’t know where Frank’s “ashes” might have come from. I know, I know, it’s just a show, I should really just relax.) Erhardt tasks Kinga and Max with obtaining a copy of the song for him, although because of the limitations of Kingachrome technology, this is not as simple as it ought to be. On a side note, he also tells Kinga that her mother was Kim Cattrall.
Overall: A so-so episode. While I have a nerdboy’s love of seeing old loose ends tied up, seeing Josh Weinstein again basically just reminded me how much, much better Frank Conniff was at that job than he was.

Show 1205: "Killer Fish", first broadcast 11/22/2018
The Film: From 1979, a star-studded (Margaux Hemingway, Marisa Berenson, James Franciscus, Lee Majors, Karen Black, Gary Collins) mess about a gang of thieves whose lives are complicated by swarming piranha fish. Bad, especially considering the level of talent involved.
The Host Segments: The Mads riff on Synthia’s video diary while she looks for the missing song. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots proffer Alchemy Glue, while the Mads present the Time Travel Oven. Jonah and the Bots speculate about what kind of fish will be in the movie. Jonah and the Bots work out how to rescue the characters in the film. Jonah and the Bots discuss the characters’ ethics.
Overall: Another so-so episode.
