OK, I'll be handling this one a little differently than some of the other TV series I've re-watched. I don't own every episode of this, and what I do own isn't in broadcast order, so I'll be watching them as I find them, and updating this initial post as to where they sit in the show's history.

Show 1206:  Ator the Fighting Eagle, first broadcast 11/22/2018

The Film:  From 1982, the film used in Show 303: “Cave Dwellers” was actually a sequel to this picture.  More mediocre sword-and-sorcery nonsense with the amiably untalented Miles O’Keefe.

The Host Segments:  Synthia delivers the song to Doctor Erhardt. For the Invention Exchange, Jonah and the Bots present Swiss Army Cheese.  The Mads counter with the Totino’s Pizza Roll Popper. Crow as Griba teaches Jonah the secrets of fighting. Kiog the bear visits the SOL. Max wants Kiog for a pet, but Kinga turns the bear over to Doctor St. Phibes. Kinga berates the audience for wasting their time watching bad movies. Jonah’s plan comes to fruition, as he, the Bots and Doctor St. Phibes escape to Earth on Kinga’s spaceship, the Deep Hurting, while Kinga and Max are trapped in a hidden theater on Moon 13 and forced to watch Mr. B Natural, short from Show 319: “War of the Colossal Beast”.

Overall:  Another OK episode.

"The Revival" Overall:  It was OK, some pretty good episodes.  I liked the cast, I had no problem with them.  I wish they'd had a little more time to "find their feet", as it were. To my mind. the original show didn't start to really get good until the third season.

If I were to say anything negative, it's that the new shows were maybe a touch too "Hollywood" for me. They maybe lacked a little of the old shows' home-made, Midwestern feel.

When I have time, I'm going through the original post and adding links to my reviews of the original episodes.  It may take a while.

Some of the featured movies were adapted to comics when they came out or were released in the US.

Looking over your list I noticed four which appeared as Dell Four Color issues: Hercules (#1006, art by John Buscema), Hercules Unchained (#1121, art by Reed Crandall and George Evans), The Sword and the Dragon (#1118, art by Jack Sparling), and The Phantom Planet (#1234, art by Jack Lehti).

When I read the issue I noticed a couple of differences between The Phantom Planet and the adaptation. It's my guess these are a result of the comic's being based on a pre-final version of the script. In the comic the Phantom Planet is destroyed at the end.

Dell also published adaptations of The Magic Sword (the GCD doesn't know who drew this one) and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (art by Bob Jenney).

In the Silver Age Charlton published three series based on monster movies: Gorgo, Konga and Reptilicus (the last briefly; it became Reptisaurus with its third issue). Each started off with an adaptation of the movie. The Gorgo and Konga adaptations, and some number of the main stories in other issues of these series, were drawn by Steve Ditko. He did these while also working at Marvel. The Reptilicus adaptation was drawn by Bill Molno and Vince Alascia.

The GCD tells me an adaptation of Moon Zero Two drawn by Paul Neary appeared in the 1970s in The House of Hammer v1 #5. The title celebrated Hammer films and ran a mix of comics stories and articles.

Warren published a photo-comic adaptation of The Horror of Party Beach.

Marvel published an adaptation of The Land That Time Forgot by Marv Wolfman and Sonny Trinidad as Marvel Movie Premiere #1.

Diabolik was based on an Italian comic.

This post displaced the thread This Week in Comics: july 6-13, fulllist from the homepage.

Interesting stuff, LB.  I'd heard of the Gorgo and Reptilicus comics, but I didn't realize that so many of the others had comics adaptations, however.

I've found two more I missed. Warren also did a photo-comic of The Mole People. Godzilla vs. Megalon was advertised with a four page promotional comic.

Now that I think about it, I remember seeing that Megalon comic, but if I ever had it, it's long gone.

Should read "Mike"

Show 621: "the Beast of Yucca Flats, first broadcast 1/21/1995

The Shorts:  "Money Talks" - The Ghost of Benjamin Franklin teaches a gangly, somewhat dimwitted teenager how to save money.  Ah, for the days when fifty cents was a lot of money!

"Progress Island U.S.A." - Propaganda film about what a great place Puerto Rico is, and you should definitely invest there. The soundtrack seems to be lifted from a 1970's police drama.

The Film: This 1961 Coleman Francis effort features Tor Johnson as a defecting scientist who is nuked and becomes a menace to society.  This is a terrible movie. Seriously, Plan 9 From Outer Space is brilliant cinema compared to this.  It's really badly-made.  There's no soundtrack to speak of, just some nonsensical narration and a few lines of insipid dialogue. For me, the saddest part of all is seeing poor Tor, stumbling around the desert, looking less like an atomic mutant, and more like somebody's poor old demented grandpa who somehow wandered out of the home and got lost.

The Host Segments:  Mike is wallpapering. He is doing a bad job, and the Bots aren't helping much. The Mads are supporting Proposition Deep 13. Mike and the Bots are against it.  The SOL is disturbed by a loud house party. Crow asks Mike if it's 11:30. Over and over and over.  Crow speaks for the Film Anti-Preservation Society.  Joel and the Bots declare victory. the Mads concede.

Ratings:  Eh. The host segments are OK, but the film itself is a real drag to watch.

They've announced the movies that they'll be riffing in Season 13 and which they'll be releasing through their on-line "virtual theater", whatever that is, over the course of next year.  They're also going to be riffing twelve shorts, but no word yet on what those will be.  I suspect that I'll be waiting to see these episodes if/when they're released on disk, as they want eighty-five bucks for a "season pass" to the website.

For the record, the episodes will be:

Show 1301)Santo in "The Treasure of Dracula" (1969)  - Mexican wrestler movies seem to work well for them.

Show 1302)Robot Wars (1993) - Nothing to do with the old cable show.

Show 1303)Beyond Atlantis (1973) - Never heard of it.

Show 1304)Munchie (1992) - Never heard of it. Said to be Manos-level bad.

Show 1305)Doctor Mordrid (1992) - This was going to be a Doctor Strange movie twenty-four years early, but they lost their license and so they tweaked the characters so Marvel wouldn't sue.

Show 1306)Demon Squad (2019) - Never heard of it.  The new record-holder for "Most Recent Film They've Done".

Show 1307)Gamera vs. Jiger (1970) - The only one of these pictures that I've seen.

Show 1308)The Batwoman (1968) - Utterly unlicensed Mexican rip-off, unrelated to the Batwoman knock-off featured in Show 515.  Not hard to guess what they were relying on to sell this picture:

Show 1309)The Million Eyes of Sumuru (1967) - Never seen it.  The show's already done this movie back in the KTMA days.

Show 1310)H.G. Wells' "The Shape of Things to Come"  (1979) -  Never seen it, but, by all accounts, it's nothing to do with the book, just Jack Palance in a Star Wars knock-off.

Show 1311)The Mask 3D (1961) - Never heard of it.

Show 1312)The Bubble (1966) - Never heard of it.

Show 1313)The Christmas Dragon (2014) - Never heard of the movie.  Apparently, this episode will feature three hosts - Jonah Ray, Joel Hodgson and Emily Marsh, who's done host duties on their live tours.

Should read "to keep his own wife alive".

Show 105: "The Corpse Vanishes", first broadcast 12/9/1989

The Short:  Commando Cody - Radar Men From The Moon, Chapter Three: The Bridge of Death" is from 1952.   It seems to be half sci-fi, half cops-and-robbers stuff.  In it, Commando Cody does some stuff.  Cliffhanger:  A car crosses a bridge  just as the bridge blows up. Kind of a half-arsed mess. Clayton Moore is in it somewhere.

The Film: This is from 1942.  In it, Bela Lugosi kidnaps brides on their wedding day as part of a scheme to keep his own life alive.  Poor Bela, reduced to making this kind of badly-written, badly-produced,badly-acted crap. A shame, really.

The Host Segments: Clay gives Larry some Mad Scientist hygiene products.  Joel invents the chiro-gyro. The Mads invent the flame flower.  Tom reads Tiger Bot magazine. Joel and the Bots play tag. Crow cuts Joel's hair.  Joel and the Bots discuss the movie.

Rating: Meh.  The more of these first season episodes I see, the more I understand why they never re-ran them.

Watched this again last night.  Not much more to note except that the mad scientist is played by Robert Shayne, who  played Inspector Henderson on The Adventures of Superman.

The Short:  "Undersea Kingdom" Chapter Two: "Undersea City".  Crash and pals have adventures in Atlantis.  Cliffhanger: A bunch of guys are chasing a bunch of other guys, I lost track of who or why.

The Film: From 1956, Lon Chaney plays an executed killer  who is resurrected and is indestructible right up until the moment he is destroyed.  Look for Joe Flynn as a lab assistant.  the film is murky and uninteresting.

The Host Segments: Crow and Servo switch voices, as do Gypsy and Magic Voice.  The Mads claim to have invented something just for men, but won't say what it is.  Joel and the Bots have invented Cereal Novels. Joel and the Bots hold a parade honoring the Undersea KIngdom. Later they discuss what they would do if they were indestructible. Joel tries to do Lon Chaney eyes, but Crow and Servo interfere. Crow and Servo make Joel sign an agreement not to do anymore cop/doughnut jokes. (Apparently, this reflected an actual agreement among the writers.)  Two cops (Mike and Kevin) visit Deep 13.

Rating:  An OK episode. The Host segments are more amusing than the film itself.

Re-watched this episode last night.  Joel and the Bots were fairly hard on this picture.  The DVD has an introduction by Joel i  which he says they were at their most cynical when they riffed this movie. He also doscusses meeting Richard Kiel and Arch Hall Jr. years later and you could tell that he felt a little sheepish when they both turned out to be nice guys.

Show 506; "Eegah", first broadcast 8/28/1993

The Film:  In this 1962 epic, a scientist and his daughter are captured by prehistoric relic Eegah (Richard Kiel) and are rescued by her boyfriend, (the mildly unpleasant Arch Hall Jr.).   Unimpressive.

The Host Segments:  Servo deep freezes Crow, who shatters when Joel tries to rescue him.  Joel invents the Porkerina.  Dr. F replaces Frank's blood with antifreeze.  Joel and the Bots discuss little bits of "hell" in everyday life. The Bots invent a machine to make Joel look like Arch Hall Jr.  Joel and the Bots discuss how many 60's TV families were headed by widowers. Crow and Servo wash the stink of the movie off of them.  The Mads over Frank's blood.

Favorite Lines: "Watch out for snakes!"

Rating:  A so-so episode. I like the Porkerina, though.
