Resurrection is a new sci-fi series from Oni Press and is written by Marc Guggenheim. This is the story of what happens to the earth after the aliens who had invaded the planet leave after a decade. I read the FCBD issue and enjoyed it. Then I heard good things about the trade paperback collecting the first 6 issues plus an annual. I'm not sure those issues were ever actually released, there's no evidence on Oni's site of those single issues. Anyways, a new ongoing series has started up continuing where the issues in the tpb left off. The tpb took a little while for me to get into it. It seemed disjointed. This is typical post apocalyptic material. We get several mysteries though. Such as why did the aliens leave after ten years? Was it something we did? Did the government know about a possible invasion 20 years before it happened? Plus many other smaller mysteries. By the end I was curious and wanted to read further. The new issue of the ongoing series picks up from the first chapter of tpb. Where the tpb focused on a character leaving a group behind to follow her own path, this issue shows what happens to this group after she left. If you can track down the FCBD issue, it's worth a read. The tpb is also worth a read, mainly because it's only $6! That's right, $6 for 184 pages. It is in black & white but the FCBD issue and the ongoing are in color. This has potential and hopefully can continue. It's not the best thing ever but there's enough twists that make it a compelling read. It's also a different twist on the alien invasion scenario.
