What a shame. He was brilliant on MASH.

They always had great casting. Whenever they replaced an actor who left they were always careful to have a different personality, not a duplicate. David Ogden Stiers was always fascinating to watch.

While he was a strong foil for Hawkeye and BJ, he was also a complete character that was, in the end, very likeable!

I think they learned from experience, there.  I always felt bad for Larry Linville, who wasn't a bad actor, but was given such a one-note character to play.

What, no love for his star turn as the Martian Manhunter?

I had just that article about M*A*S*H Kelvin linked on Friday, then Tracy told me this news on Saturday.

M*A*S*H was a big part of my childhood.

Looks more like the Martian Donuthunter to me.
ALWAYS liked Stiers.
