RIP Jackie Mason

Story

Another guy that I'd heard of a lot, but not seen much of.  I think his heyday was a little past by the time I came up.  I remember his best for his turn on The Simpsons as Krusty's father, but I knw that he did a lot more than that.

  • He has an interesting back story, and he had his funny moments, but my interest stopped in the last few decades, when he evolved into a mean-spirited insult comic, an aggressive bigot and a Trump supporter. I say good riddance.

    YMMV.

  • "Evolved into"? Wasn't he always?

  • To tell you the truth, CK, I don't know. I am unfamiliar with his early career, and was relying on the obits I read that he was less offensive in his earlier days. And he did some guest spots (and The Simpsons voice work) which I saw and were unremarkable, lending credence to the obit claims that he was not always the human sludge he was toward the end.

"Good riddance to bad rubbish" stands either way.
