I haven't posted on the boards in a while, but thought my fellow Legionnaires and trivia nerds would want to know about this, so......
Watch Jeopardy! on Thursday, April 7 :)

I'm contractually obligated not to talk about the results in advance, but I'll tell you alllll about it later.

Mickey, you did great! I really thought you had him. I'm shaking my fist at Robert Frost right now!
Rob, I am too. I actually used the phrase "lost in translation" in a discussion yesterday, and then had to do a deja vu-double take with my own brain.
Wish I had won, of course, but it really was a great time, and I think I did pretty well, all things considered.
Here's to Christopher Short: he was a great guy, and I have no qualms about coming in second to someone who was intelligent, gracious and and Cardinals' fan :)
You did great, Mickey! I would have been slaughtered in Double Jeopardy!
Even though the Hulk did make an appearance, if you mentioned your love of comics, would they NOT put up a comics category? I mean, who hasn't seen a couple of Disney films or vacationed at the Galapagos?
I totally did not understand the category that the Hulk came up in. Not because it had the hulk, but I just didn't "get" the category at all. If I was on stage, that would have totally messed me up.
My final jeopardy answer would have been "What is context?" so I would have lost there too. ... But given the topic, I might have wagered lightly.
And the third-place winner had the world's most annoying voice.
So a couple of questions that I always wondered ...
When "the answers" come up, do they show up on your desk monitor?
How far away are you from the screen that shows the answers? (I ask because I have ~terrible~ vision, but often read the answer before Alex finishes reading them. So that makes me wonder how I'd do on stage.)
When you make your final jeopardy bet, does anyone help you with your strategy? That is, do you do the math so you top someone by $1, etc.? Or does a producer come over with a list of suggestions. (I'm always mildly impressed when people figure out these things, cuz I know I wouldn't be able to!)
You seemed to be getting frustrated with your button. Was there a problem?
Now that you played on stage, what do you say to all those people who say "I do pretty good at home?"
How many episodes do they film in one day?
Did they tell you to bring multiple changes of clothes?
When they break for a commercial, what's the real-time delay?
Your Trebek preference -- Mustache or no mustache?
Mickey:
It's easy for an arm chair contestant like me to watch the show and play along from the comfort of my living room. You never have to worry about being beat at answering a question first, etc.
So congrats on making it as far as you did on the show.
But besides hoping you answer Lumbering Jack's questions, I have a couple of my own.
01. Is it true that travel expenses, room and board, meals, etc; are on your own dime? If so, any place good but cheap around the studio?
02. How did it actually work, between applying to being a contestant to actually appearing on the show?
03. What did you and the other contestants talk with Trebek about during the closing credits?
Great job, otherme! I thought we had a lock there for a while. Stupid Robert Frost.

I want to thank everyone for the kind words; I wouldn't be half the nerd I am today if it weren't for you people :)
Lumbering Jack and Lee, I'll get back to you on your questions for sure, just tied up at work at the moment.
ALL--YOU ARE ALL INTELLIGENT PEOPLE, AND TRIVIA EXPERTS TO BOOT. EACH OF YOU SHOULD BE TRYING OUT FOR JEOPARDY!
