So, What'd You Get for Christmas?

I see that my good friend Chris Fluit has started a "What did you give for Christmas?" thread. I guess that makes me the Anti-Chris! ;) I got: 1)A Futurama 2010 Calendar 2)Talk to the Tail, 'Cause the Whiskers Ain't Listenin', by Revilo 3)A pair of moccasins, that I'm wearing right now. Also, I got a delicious, bountiful Christmas dinner, and a pleasant evening with the saner portion of my family.

  • I got a Kireug Coffee maker. It's awesome and a bunch of coffee cups for it, 108 to be exact. So i'm good for a while.
The big surprise was a blu-ray player and Die Hard blu-ray.
    Lost Season 5
A wall clock for the house
    A Bonefish gift card
    money from my Grandma
A bunch of little goodies in my stocking.
  • Jeanine and I agreed to keep it light this year; we had already bought each other a tire inflator that plugs into the car lighter.
I got a Marvel calendar, Ferrero Rocher & Lindt chocolates, a bag of coffee, a bottle of Trader Joe's Vintage 2009 dark ale, an Applebee's gift certificate, and a check from my folks. The nicest thing was being with my parents on Christmas, which we haven't managed for several years. We've usually gotten down to Florida sometime just after Christmas, but this year we were able to be here.
  • I got 5 extra hours with my daughter, on Christmas. We decorated a gingerbread house, watched some Davey and Goliath while eating her requested special Christmas lunch (hot dogs, shells & cheese, and "Daddy's Special Green Beans"), opened some of her presents, and painted some of a way-too-complex-for-her-age paint-by-numbers. Says she, "It's more important that we paint it together than paint it right."

"Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." -Groucho Marx

Check out the Secret Headquarters (my store) website! It's a pretty lame website, but I did it myself, so tough noogies

Listen to WOXY.com, it's the future of rock-n-roll!

  • In addition to having both kids here (huzzah!), I recieved...

    1) A two-month extension to my Champions Online subscription from Mom and Dad.

    2) A new PC from my friends Mark and Marty. It's a Windows 7 box with great sound and a fantastic video card...all the better to play Champions Online (is there a theme here?).

    3) Socks and aftershave, as usual. I needed both (blasted sock-eating dryer), so it was greatly appreciated.

I also became a future father-in-law on Christmas Day. While I was handing out presents to everyone, Melora's boyfriend presented a ring and proposed. (He asked for my permission on Christmas Eve, so I knew what was going to happen.) Needless to say, we'll all remember this Christmas.

She's also pretty wise for her age, isn't she?

    Oh, how cute!
  • Beatles RockBand (thanks, Holly!)

Also many, many great books including volumes 2-4 of the manga Buddha biography, the annotated Sherlock Holmes, and the first volume of the Perez JLA.

    Plus...the Justice League/Unlimited super-duper DVD set.
  • Not much this year. My family started drawing names last year to make it easier on the funds.

I got The Shield season 5, a waffle iron, and I treated myself to some of Threadless' $10 t-shirts, and over the weekend getting a some stuff from my LCS' sale.

Is that Doc Tezuka's Buddha? That's some good stuff!

Yes, yes it is. Each girl gave me a volume...
