In this final graphic novel adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s international bestseller, Lisbeth Salander lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: If and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. And, on her own, she will plot revenge – against the man who tried to kill her, and the corrupt government institutions that nearly destroyed her life.

  • Stoked about AMERICA VS THE JUSTICE SOCEITY TPB!!

Underrated IMHO that examined the history of the JSA in an entertaining manner. It was supposed to be six issues but they made it four with NO ADS!! Hope they keep the back page notes and bibliographies.

Unfortunately it suffered from the new-at-the-time printing process so I hope it looks better!

  • It's hard to know what to get with so many new titles debuting at the same time.  I'll probably take a look at shelf copies of Justice League America by Bryan Hitch, Batman Beyond, Black Canary, Green Lantern: Lost Army, Martian Manhunter and Starfire.  I'm also on board for my regular titles Secret Six 3, Teen Titans Go 10, Astro City 24, American Vampire 9, Fables: The Wolf Among Us 6 (though for some reason, I thought it was a five-issue mini-series).

  • "Flex-o-graphic" it was called.

I've been wondering for years why George Perez's Wonder Woman has not been collected in hardcover (or at all, for that matter).

  • It looks like a number of titles are going up to $3.99 -- including two I'm reading, Flash and Harley Quinn. Most of the new titles are $2.99, still, thankfully.

Of the new titles, I've got my eye on Starfire, Prez, Section 8, Justice League of America, Harley Quinn & Power Girl, and maybe Black Canary, Constantine, Mystic U, Batman Beyond, and Bizarro.  I probably won't pick up them all, but I'm definitely curious to how they'll be received.

    "Flex-o-graphic" it was called.

I've been wondering for years why George Perez's Wonder Woman has not been collected in hardcover (or at all, for that matter).

The first 24 issues and the first annual were also collected in 4 trades between 2004-2006: Gods and Mortals, Challenge of the Gods, Beauty and the Beasts, Destiny Calling.  WW #24 was Perez's last issue on art, although he continued to write - or sometimes only plot - the book up to #62.

  • I almost said "(or at all, for that matter, IIRC)," but I was pretty sure it hadn't been collected in trade, either. Just leave off the parenthetical aside and I stand corrected. I still don't recall the trades, but thanks for the correction. In any case, I'm glad I didn't buy them in trade, or I'd end up with more duplication.

  • Some of the art looks surprisingly amateurish.

  • The second cover for Justice League of America #1 is a homage to Justice League of America #144 (1977). The first one recalls Alex Ross's covers for Justice Society of America #11 (2008), the collection Astro City: Local Heroes (2004), and Justice #1 (2005), which last might be the closest. Also compare Kurt Busiek's Astro City #1 (1996), and Crisis on Multiple Earths #3 (2004).

The cover of Doomed #1 is modelled after that of Incredible Hulk #1 (1962). This is clear in the positioning of the secondary characters.

The alternative cover of New Suicide Squad #9 is after Avengers #145.

The cover of Infinite Crisis: Fight for the Multiverse #12 has a lot in common with that of New Teen Titans #24 (1982), but I'm not sure the latter was the former's model. Perhaps they're both modelled on a movie poster. The main cover of Grayson #9 somewhat recalls that of Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD #4 (1968).

I think the alternative cover of Justice League #41 is also a homage, but I can't place the source. Compare Ross's cover for Paradise X: Xen #1, which might reflect the same source. The cover of Earth 2: Society #1 also rings a bell with me.

The alternative cover of Green Arrow #41 is after images of St Sebastian. The cover of Martian Manhunter #1 is after Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian Man drawing. That of Prez #1 is, of course, after Emanuel Leutze's painting Washington Crossing the Delaware. That of the Batman: Harley Quinn TPB is after a L.C. Leyendecker painting. I owe this last point to this page, which has images of the painting and a Howard Chaykin Blackhawk cover based on it.

The Batgirl #41 solicitation might be out of date, as the alternative cover, which we discussed here, has reportedly been withdrawn.
