  • Never mind that, what the hell is an MLA?
  • Member of the Legislative Assembly, our provincial politicians here in Nova Scotia.
  • Nothing to apologize for, John. I like to jam up the "latest activity" feed at least once a month.

All this time I've been wondering what MLA means in regard to the politicians in Northern Ireland. Too lazy to look it up.

    Now I know.

Hmmmm! Is Nova Scotia slightly independant from Canada, like NI is from Britain? ie less centrally ruled?
  • Oh no, we're firmly a part of Canada - one of 10 provinces. You may be thinking of Quebec, a province that from time to time make noises about seeking independence from Canada.

Canada has a federal government and elects Members of Parliament from every province. Each province has a provincial government, and elects Members of a Legislative Assembly. We also have literally dozens of municipal governments in each province - city, town, and county councils, mayors and wardens, AND we elect our school boards. We have a LOT of politicians, so those of you who friended me on facebook see a lot of political references.
  • No shortage of governance then...

    Thanks for the info.

    Now back to superheroes.
