Is anybody else reading the Spider-woman series? The first 4 issues were Spider-verse tie-ins and were pretty good. Issue 5 is a "bold" new direction for the character. Which it actually is, imo. I was introduced to this character (Jessica Drew) about a decade ago in the New Avengers. Since then she's been on some Avengers team doing big super hero stuff. This issue she's gone back to a solo career fighting street level crime and has a new costume.

I really liked this issue a lot. Honestly this is a terrific jumping on point. Don't bother with 1-4, though they were good. If you're interested in the character this is a great jumping on point.

  • Good to hear. Is she a private detective again? She did that gig once, in another series long ago.

  • I skipped the first four issues, and all of the other Spider-Verse tie-ins, as the main series billed the tie-ins as enhancing the story but not needed to read the main story in ASM.  I'll look for this the next time I'm in a shop.
