Pro Se Press, the company I work for, is kicking off their second year of publishing with not one, but TWO new books.

Creeping Dawn: The Rise of the Black Centipede by creator/author Chuck Miller features the debut of one of the most strangest characters in New Pulp fiction history in a world of magic, mystery, and mayhem,

The Adventures of Lazarus Gray by Barry Reese, creator/author of The Rook explores how one man can be expected to help others while trying to survive the mysteries and intrigue of Sovereign City when he doesn't even know who he really is.

Both are fascinating reads and are available from Pro Se Press via Amazon.com

And coming soon: MY first book!

  • I love the name "The Black Centipede."

I am a big fan of the pulps and really enjoy reading them. Despite being a fan, I don't exactly know what the New Pulp movement is. Care to enlighten me? I can't tell ... is this a book or a comic? Where can I read some samples?

  • Jack, et al:

New Pulp, as the name implies, are new tales (straight prose with occasional illustrations) by today's authors told within the classic pulp style for today's audience.

Same fast paced action, tense moments, startling revelations, etc of the genre for you to enjoy, but with all new characters. Not reprints of the grand masters like The Shadow, Doc Savage, and company, although there are also companies that acquire the licenses and continue producing new adventures of the original pulp stars too.

And Jack, I have seen Chuck Miller post occasionally here on Captain Comics' site.

For samples, try Facebook under the various authors,  http://www.pulpmachine.blogspot.com , http://www.newpulpfiction.com , or look at previews of the individual titles when they are posted on Amazon.
