Thanks for that link, Philip. I must have missed that discussion at the time. It certainly sounds like the Kid's earlier adventures would be more fun to read. I don't think the Vertigo ongoing had much to do with the miniseries that preceded it, other than sharing the same origin story. Clark, I don't recall the Ann Nocenti/Sean Phillips series being incomprehensible, just really bad. I read it a second time a few years back because I couldn't believe it was as bad as I remembered! But it was. It was early in Philips' career, and even the artwork was weak. It's in the running for the worst thing Vertigo has published.

Maybe I thought it was incomprehensible because it was bad.

In any event, I'm glad I didn't spend more than a quarter per issue for it. I've got to save my money for the good stuff!

Because of how the Blogs work, and the fact that my slow trickle of responses are now being posted on a blog that is no longer on the first page of the board, I thought I'd note here that I have added a few posts to Chris's first New X-Men Blog here.

Highlight:  "You were terrible in bed!"

More New X-Men commentary on Chris's now-hidden blog - New X-Men part 2 .

Naughty Scotty!

Have you been picking up the Steed and Mrs. Peel reprints?
