It's that time of year again!
Continuing the tradition started by Doctor Hmmm? back in 2010, and followed inconsistently since (2011201320142015201620172018 and 2019), here's a catchall thread about any and all shows debuting or returning this fall, with an emphasis on the shows that don't generate their own threads.

I think the article also hit the nail on the head about Clark's relationship with the sons. All his energy went into "fixing" Jordan, the moody, angsty one, and continued when Jordan started manifesting powers. I think that might have been unconscious favoritism on Clark's part, but it didn't come off like it was written that way; it felt like the writers just dropped the ball.

Sad news (at least for me), that All Rise was not renewed for another season. All the backstage turmoil probably didn't help its chances.

Some hopeful news about All Rise: there's negotiations to do a third season on the OWN channel. From Deadline: "‘All Rise’ Eyes Comeback With Season 3 Pickup By OWN After CBS Cancellation"

That's nothing if not true-to-life. We had some older friends that gave all their attention to the "bad kid" and virtually none to the "good kid." He was fine. Except he wasn't.

Oh, yeah, I know that kind of thing happens all the time, unfortunately. But I wish the show had realized that was the story they were telling and wrote it accordingly. It felt like that developed in the stories almost accidentally, in how Lois and Jon got closer while Clark dealt with Jordan's issues.

B Positive has been a good show. I wonder whether they were stuck with the kidney transplant when they thought they were ending the series, or whether they had already decided to shift the focus?

This reminds me of how Mom gradually changed from a family interaction show (first they dumped Christy's kids) to a show mainly about the interesting characters in the AA group.

There seems be more "throw it against the wall and see what sticks" in how B Positive was run than in any show I can remember. There was Drew and Gina; Drew's ex-wife and daughter (who were underused); the senior citizens at Gina's job (who were underused); Linda Lavin, stealing every scene in sight; Drew's fellow dialysis patients, and the cancer patient in the last few episodes who became Drew's new girlfriend. Oh, and Cannoli the dog.

Frankly, I thought it hit its stride with the dialysis group, but since Drew's had the surgery, what need is there to keep looking in on them? Still, they promoted one of them to series regular (unfortunately, not the funniest one) and, as noted above, are making the dialysis nurse one of Gina's co-workers.

I'm not sure all the planned changes will pan out, but we shall see.

One change for B Positive next season, TVLine sez: "B Positive Season 2 Recasts [Spoiler]"

In keeping with the headline, here's a smilie

They're replacing the actress who played Drew's new girlfriend in the last few episodes of Season 1. Michelle Ortiz comes in instead of Rosa Salazar.

I liked the character and the actress. Since they thought it was being cancelled she may have got another job.

Looking at Rosa Salazar's IMDB page, she has a few new jobs.
