Looks like a time-travel story involving the search for Batman. Is there anyone her reading this title? (Issue #2 shipped today.) Is it any good?

I don't really think there is, either. It's something that's always been done, to greater or lesser degrees. I think the years between Identity Crisis up through Flashpoint were the most continuity heavy (by which I mean hamstrung). Even the New 52 had plenty of outliers, like Men of War and OMAC and All-Star Western and I Vampire, that would only brush lightly up against DC continuity, generally going their own way (and largely failing in the marketplace, if not creatively).

And again, that quote was really meant to highlight the more offbeat DC You titles, not what's going on now. I think in Rebirth, continuity has been solid, but not getting in the way of title's individuality.

Anyway, Time Masters!  I really enjoyed that Wayne/Shiner/Thibert/Marzan series -- it seemed like Shiner and Wayne really wanted to lay down solid, unbreakable rules for Time Travel. Which, naturally, were immediately taken up as a challenge for later writers to break, until they were broken enough to ignore. Ultimately, I think the rules were more hassle than they were worth, but they presented an interesting challenge for the heroes of this story, which is really what counts.
