Surprisingly, we haven't broken any weather-related records (yet) in North Texas. I thought we'd be closing in on the most consecutive three-digit temperature days, but it turns out 20 days into the current run the temperature was "only" 99°. We've got a projected high of 105° for the next five days in a row, but on Thursday it drops to 102°. If you were to take the average high and low temperature for each day over the past month, that would be higher than last year.
In related news, yesterday I finally broke out my SURF MUSIC. (I usually try to put it off as long as I can, but I just couldn't stand it any longer.)
The Yardbirds final album Little Games with Jimmy Page on guitar. A few good songs, including Page's solo acoustic instrumental "White Summer", also some dreadful psychedelic pop that I wouldn't give a second listen.
There is a linear park near my house that runs along "Fish Creek." Several years ago my last friend* was visiting from out of town and, in answer to his question if there were any actual fish in Fish Creek, I answered, "Only Coney Island Whitefish."
*(Not the "last friend" I have, but the last friend I am ever likely to make; he died in 2025.)
Early Disney and Fleischer (Popeye) cartoons are available on DVD. I wish that were true of Warner Bros. Yes, there are some Warner Bros. cartoon sets, but they are primarily from the "prime" era of the '40s and '50s. I want to see some of the pre-Bugs Bunny ones, from when they were in b&w and Porky Pig was the star of Warner's cartoon stable.

Check out this link https://cartoonresearch.com/. A good resource for classic cartoons. At one time one of the sponsoring links had On Demand DVDs of the early Warner Bros b&w cartoons.

Where my initial impression of what life was like in the U.S. Navy came from:
Cole Porter's IT'S TOO DARN HOT sung by Ella Fitzgerald.

WILD THING - When I let our cat in this moring I referred to her as "Wild Thing" and the song (Troggs' version) has been stuck in my head ever since.
This morning I referred to our cat as "Foot Foot" when I let her in, and now THIS SONG (by the Shaggs) is stuck in my head.
COMPARISON #20 (thematically linked):
