I remember, some years ago, when DC released a “Showcase” edition of these stories of WWII era soldiers fighting dinosaurs. It sounded cool and retro to me, but other voices on this board dissuaded me from buying it, because the stories were formulaic and not all that entertaining when read en masse.

I've read one of the "War that Time Forgot" stories, and two or three from the early 80s, when the concept was revived, with Kanigher writing, in Weird War Tales. The 80s ones were rote stories too. The thing is, the covers make those 60s issues look so exciting. If there's one DC property crying out for a movie, it's that one!

Daredevil - Fall From Grace

If WB or Zack Snyder made a Daredevil movie, this would be it. I guarantee they would somehow try to adapt this story. This was in a way, Daredevil's "Knightfall" or "Clone Saga", whatever you call it. It's incomprehensible, it features one of the most absurd Daredevil villains in Hellspawn. The Snakeroot clan was awesome, however you did not get a sense of who those characters were. The story should have focused more on those individuals, they had some of the cooler looking sinister costumes. All in all, possibly the worst Daredevil story I've ever read.

I've read "Fall from Grace" but I have no memory of it whatsoever.

I think I purged it from my memory.

Suprprisingly, it has been reprinted as an "Epic Collection." My question: Why?

Wasn't Fall From Grace the story that brought Elektra back? And put DD in an armored costume? Ugh... a prime example of why people think the 90s sucked.

I love 90's comics. Morrison's JLA, Amalgam Comics, Thunderbolts, Robinson's Starman, Sandman, Knightfall, Reign of the Supermen, Milestone Comics, the Giffen/Bierbaum Legion, Karl Kesel's Superboy...

But look at Marvel's flagship titles (not including Peter David's Hulk and Mark Waid's Captain America) after the Image crew bailed.

Yeah, but I truly loved the earlier work of Scott Lobdell from the 90's. Generation X (the work of Bachalo's career, IMO), and the X-Men. X-Man (jeesh, whatever happened to Terry Kavanaugh?), Mark Waid's Captain America, Jeph Loeb's X-Force with Adam Pollina... Man, that was great stuff.

Man, I forgot all about Age of Apocolypse! Loved those books!

Teen Tony, Timeslide, Emerald Twilight, Knightfall, etc.

I love SOME 90s comics. But due to the speculator boom and other factors, the 90s probably produced some of the most atrocious comics ever made. Don't get me wrong... some of the best comics came out of that era as well. But there was an inordinate amount of garbage being produced.

Paul Grist's Kane, Savage Dragon, Bone, Kingdom Come, Sin City, Preacher, Hellboy, Chuck Dixon and Scott McDaniel's Nightwing, Warren Ellis's Excalibur, Joe Kelly's Deadpool, The Invisibles, Doug Moench and Kelley Jones's Batman, Mark Waid's Flash (!), Flex Mentallo, the Books of Magic ongoing, Peter David's Aquaman, Batman the Long Halloween and Dark Victory, and before that, Haunted Knight...

Yes, but putting DD in that armor isn't why the story sucked. Bringing Elektra back was anticlimatic and pointless, but I think it's just how devoid and empty the story felt that made it so bad. The ending was the icing on the sh*t-cake because the Matt Murdock clone dies and the whole world thinks Murdock is dead or something....which sounds just like the ending to BvS lol
