Still working my way through the last 100 Bullets trade and the second American Flagg! collection. Halfway through that final 100 Bullets arc, and I'm surprised that the body count isn't higher. I expect that to change soon!

More of both. I really had to stop myself at the end of 100 Bullets #96...did Lono get shot? Tune in next week for the answer, and all the other answers, too! Read up through issue #12 in American Flagg!, which concludes the first big story arc. Two epilogue issues by guest artists left to go, plus the short new story by Chaykin himself.

Marvel Team-Up #74 - Spidey and the Not Ready for Prime Time Players, aka the original cast of Saturday Night Live from 1978. Not as funny as I thought it would be, but then again it was written by Chris Claremont, not exactly known for his humour.

Marvel Tales #129 - a reprint of ASM 152, the second part of a Shocker two parter, written by Len Wein, with art by Ross Andru and (I think) Mike Esposito. Lots of fun, although I'm not a fan of the way Andru drew faces ... darn good with the Spidey stuff though.

Marvel Team-Up Annual #5 - Long, boring, long, monotonous, long .... welllll, you get the idea. Spidey plus Dr Strange, the Thing, the Scarlet Witch, and Quasar in a story about the Serpent Crown with waaaaay too much exposition - did we really need the entire history of the Crown, and in such detail? I vote no.

I just read the Spirit #29 -- a satisfactory done-in-one about two rival tattoo artists by Dean Motter and Paul Rivoche. Great cover, though!

Syncopated: An Anthology of Nonfiction Picto-essays - Its an anthology, so you get a mixed bag. I think the good outweighed the bad. Two of the essays were nothing more than a bunch of sketches though. Some of the stories in there were pretty cool.

Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds #5 - I'm satisfied with the conclusion.
Power Girl #3 - I thought it was a good resolution to the first story. I liked that Power Girl got out of the trap by using the power that Conner said he didn't have in Legion of 3 Worlds #5.

I read the new Wonder Woman issue today -- the issue's plot isn't anything we haven't seen before -- superhero gladiator fights -- but there's a lot of fun banter between Wonder Woman and Black Canary.

Two more issues of the final 100 Bullets arc. One big death, and I'm expecting a bunch of them in the final two issues (tomorrow! see how much self-control I have?). I collected almost a year of BPRD at HeroesCon, so I read the first part of that. BPRD War On Frogs #1 is a retrospective one-shot (set in 2005) showing Roger leading a mission when Abe declines. BPRD The Ectoplasmic Man is Johann's "origin story," telling how he came to be living ectoplasm contained in a suit. Both good, and I liked new artist Ben Stenbeck on the Johann one-shot.

The last two issues of 100 Bullets. Wow, twisty right up to the end. I'm really looking forward to rereading the entire series. Also the Epilogue (issues 13 - 14) to the first year of American Flagg! Wraps up a lot of loose ends, but the guest artists don't capture Chaykin's flair.
