I read something that said it would be the version of Conan after he becomes a king.
When I was looking up covers at The Grand Comics Database, I (finally) noticed that they mentioned who wrote LOCs. I headed to checkout the entries on Hourman and there I was! I have been indexed!! :-)
Glenda Ritz winning state superintendent of Indiana schools. The incumbent, Dr. Tony Bennett, FAR out-spent her on ads. Unfortunately, money can't buy the word of mouth of a state full of teachers, their families, and anyone who will listen to them.
What made me smile even more? The look of shock and humiliation on his and his wife's face as he conceded this evening.
For the last few years, he's given "grades" to schools that teach the poor, and bad ratings to awesome teachers who dare venture outside the prescribed, official, and prescribed curriculum while they're being watched by his cronies like a hawk.
For this, the State of Indiana fired him from his job today, and gave it to a former teacher whose plan to improve the state's education system doesn't depend on threatening teachers and schools.
That made me smile. It made me smile out loud.
My father spent his career teaching in Indiana public schools. Sounds like something that would have made him smile, too.
Guys, now that the election is over, could we take the political discussions to a politics thread? Pretty please with sugar on it?
Wise words. Some people get upset when there is smiling in relation to the wackier aspects of American culture and politics.
I deleted posts by Figserello and George Poague above. There will be no further discussion of this matter here.

I finally read Marvels this weekend. Yeah, I know.
2. In Book 4, in the scene where Namor is invading New York again, and Gwen and Phil are standing in the street while various Atlantean war vessels fly overhead. There in the window of the craft more-or-less over Gwen's head? I dareyou to tell me that's not Nite Owl II and the Silk Spectre.
Referring to Marvels, you're right. In one window of the airship it's definitely Nite Owl II and Silk Spectre II. I'm pretty sute the figure in the second window of the same airship is Rorschach.
The other day, I was looking for something to read and ended up pulling down a collection of Wold Newton essays. That reminded me that I've still never been able to lay my hands (or eyes) on a copy of Farmer's Doc Savage: His Apocalyptic Life. Knowing that I planned to drop into my favorite used bookstore today, I made a mental note to look for it. I figured the chances were about one in a million.
And there it was -- a perfectly good paperback copy for $0.88. I could barely believe my eyes.
Geez, Doctor, I am so envious! I've been looking for that one for decades! One of my most treasured books is a beat-up paperback of Tarzan Alive! It just made so much sense! How it handled Burroughs' inconsistencies, what was real, what was embellished and what was made up. It made you want to believe that there was a man who had those incredible adventures. Plus he tied Doc's origin to Sherlock Holmes. What a wonderful book!
