I never could warm up to Pyslocke due to the porn-star look. Perhaps I'll like the character better now.
But Marvel giveth, and Marvel taketh away. I see the stupid *^*&%!! mohawk is back.
I never liked the whole "Let's Make An English Girl Asian" bit anyway. It made the X-Men more diverse but it was an artificial diversity. I see they still have the purple hair so she was some mixture of softcore/anime which gives its Asian characters different color hair.
Rogue can be both an X-Man -Woman and an Avenger but Storm can't?? Why? Because she's estranged from her husband, the Black Panther? That didn't stop either the Wasp, the Scarlet Witch or Crystal.
Every time Storm is about to shine as a major character in the Marvel Universe, something always happens to push her out of the spotlight: the mohawk, losing her powers, becoming a child, Forge, Extreme X-Men, Halle Berry, being left out of crossovers, Avengers Vs X-Men, etc. Now she's just another X-Women! She should be where the new Captain Marvel is positioned now!
Rachel Grey?
I think she used to be called Rachel Summers. Anyway, she's the telepathic/telekinetic daughter of Scott and Jean from a dystopic future where she was used as a "hound" to track runaway mutants. She has face tattoos (that made it look like her nose was exploding) which used to show when she used her power to its full. Not sure what that was all about, really, because thinking about the character gives me a headache. Especially whenever she, Cable and X-Man were in the room together.
Ok, I knew the Rachel Summers name. The way things have gone at Marvel over the last couple of decades, I thought that she might be a different version of the same character.
To be honest, I dropped the X-books a couple of years ago, so I'm not really up on all the latest changes. I'm thinking of picking up some of the NOW! titles in convenient TPB form but I don't think I'll ever go back to getting the whole X-line. Anyway, you're right that Rachel could be an entirely different concept by now than what I remember.
I think I dropped X-Men when Paul Smith left. Someone gave me the Jim Lee #1 at some point, though.
