My Crazy Blog - A Dollhouse Update

Posted on October 25, 2009 at 2:53pm 3 Comments

Mainstream network television is not a good incubator of unique and "quirky" shows like Josh Whedon's Dollhouse on Fox. Fox has just announced it is pulling Dollhouse off the air during the key ratings month of November. The show is set to resume airing on December 4th, with the long-awaited Summer Glau episode. The schedule change is all but the kiss of death for network television. And it's so sad, because last week Dollhouse finally started to live up to its promise as… Continue

My Crazy Blog-Six Degrees of Separation Too Close--Or What Happens When You Find An Ex's Wedding Photos on Facebook

I am a relatively new devotee to social networking, but in the few short months I have been on Facebook, I have taken to it like a duck to the fountain in the Peabody Hotel lobby. I have to admit it is a guilty pleasure of mine to browse my friends' profiles and also look at friends' of friends' profiles (I'm sure I'm not the only one who does it!). I was innocently doing just that the other night when I discovered that a friend of a Facebook friend is married to an ex-boyfriend of mine. This… Continue

My Crazy Blog 9/28/09 - Why "Dollhouse" May Become My New Favorite Show

Posted on September 28, 2009 at 1:41pm 11 Comments

I saw the Season 2 premiere of the Fox series Dollhouse this weekend, and it absolutely blew me away. Dollhouse, by Joss Whedon of Buffy fame, is about a company that has technology that allows them to "wipe" a person's mind and imprint them with an entirely new personality. It's the sort of technology that could take over the world, but instead, the "Dollhouse" is a sort of high-tech employment service. Wealthy people can request a "doll" with a certain personality and set… Continue

Ya'll should read my post about Dexter in "Don't touch that Dial."

Dexter is my current obsession. I go through phases like this. Earlier this summer it was True Blood. I had to catch up on all the episodes and read all the books. Now it's Dexter. I've now read all 3 of the books by Jeff Lindsay and caught up on all the episodes so far. But the new season starts… Continue

My Crazy Blog 8/30/09

I happened to stumble across Wonder Woman #216 yesterday, because that's the sort of thing you find lying around our house.(In case you didn't know, the famous Captain Comics is my husband and our house doubles as the Comics Cave. We have anywhere from 50,000-60,000 comics in our house--even the Captain isn't sure of the exact number.)

So Wonder Woman #216 from 1975 is lying out in the open as a consequence of the Captain's current re-boxing and re-boarding obsession. In… Continue
