"I'd say the show made it through the first year (TPB Vol. 1-2), roughly. Yorick and 355 had gotten to Dr. Mann's lab in Boston, and had set out for California. The last big scenes took place in Marrisville, Ohio (I guess: not sure if the…"

Y: The Last Man TV series

The whole first season of Y: The Last Man is available on Hulu:FX now, and since there has been no discussion I wondered if anyone else has been watching it. I was a big fan of the comic--I still own the whole thing, mainly in TPB form. But the first year I was still buying individual monthly issues, and was pleasantly surprised when I dug them out and remembered that I had the first issue signed by inker Jose Marzan Jr. (never had a shot at co-creators Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra,…See More

"I have read both of them, and not alike at all. Not even a little bit. Remember that Moore famously insisted on calling Lost Girls "pornography." Friday is definitely not that."

Deadly Class Volume 10: Save Your Generation

Deadly Class Volume 10: Save Your GenerationRick Remender, writer; Wes Craig, artist; Lee Loughridge, coloristImage Comics, 2021Back after a long hiatus, the narrative jumps around chronologically, as it has in recent volumes (the early ones all had a year on the cover, focusing on a single class year at Kings Dominion). The story begins in Phoenix, Arizona in 1991.…See More

Heroes Convention 2009

Posted on June 19, 2009 at 11:26pm 2 Comments

After a late start, spent almost seven hours at the convention. I attended one panel discussion: "The New Power Generation of Comics" with Brian Michael Bendis, Ivan Brandon, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman, and Matt Fraction. Matt Brady of Newsarama attempted to moderate, with limited success (at one point Fraction turned a question around and basically interviewed Brady instead of the other way around). These writers all know each other, and had a good time tossing the questions around,… Continue

Thanks, Mark. Just clearing up a question a friend made of me about the review of Don Quixote (I'm NOT that Rob Davis). This looks like a fun place, though I doubt I'll have much time to visit often.
