Here's a press release from Marvel along with some nice art. But that's not the only reason I'm posting it. Something occurred to me as I was looking at the art, that I can't figure out. Maybe it's been explained. But here's my question (actually two): One way you can tell Daken from Logan in the Wolverine suit is the elaborate tattoos on Daken's left arm. So riddle me this: How do you tattoo a guy with a healing factor? And wouldn't his hair grow back from that mohawk cut, like, every five minutes?

Daken Gets His Revenge in Dark Wolverine #80!

Ok, so being a hero isn’t as easy as it looks, but mercilessly slaughtering people is something that will come all too naturally to Daken, son of Wolverine, in Dark Wolverine #80! Red-hot scribes Daniel Way and Marjorie Liu join rising star artist Stephen Segovia to deliver the last thrilling issue of this chapter in Wolverine’s son’s life! Norman Osborn’s publicity stunt fails miserably and Daken is more than happy to clean up the mess – by creating an even bloodier one! How does Daken pay back the upstart villains that beat him to within an inch of his life? He’s gonna teach ‘em that their egos just wrote cheques their bodies can’t cash! Be sure to catch the stunning variant cover by Young Guns artist Stefano Caselli!

Everyone is raving about Way and Liu’s Dark Wolverine:

“[Daken] is an interesting character. He's manipulative, sarcastic, poetic, and has the strength of his father. Way's dialogue is very enticing.” – Ryan Goulet, Comicsbulletin.com

“Way and Liu develop a wonderful satirical attitude for Daken that enhances the quality of this character.” – Frank Stapleton, BrokenFrontier.com

“Of all the Dark Reign storylines at the moment, Dark Wolverine is the one I am enjoying the most.” – Antony Ellis, thecomicaddiction.com

Marvel urges retailers to check all orders of Dark Wolverine as the series continues to be lauded by fans and critics alike! Just whose side is Daken really on? Find out all the answers in the full-throttle Dark Wolverine #80!

The thing is, we have a comparison: Wolverine. How many times have we seen him burned or power-blasted or something, and his hair and skin grew back to exactly to where they were before within hours? Sometimes it's even faster than that.

Also, maybe he got his tattoos before his mutant power kicked in? I dunno.

Well the healing factor I would figure only affects the live tissue in his body. Therefore, if you pulled his hair out by the roots he would get five o'clock shadow on his head real quick, but the natural growth of his hair would remain the same. Otherwise he would leave a mound of dead skin cells every time he got up from a chair. That wouldn't be accelerated by his power. Looking too deep in how a healing factor works has always been kind of dicey for me.

Maybe his curse is that he has to get the tatoo reapplied daily

I think it would just mean that his body would heal from the needling faster. The ink could still be left behind, since it's benign his body wouldn't necessarily treat it like a hostile invader.

Maybe he's actually naturally bald, and he just glues on the hair.

Check out the Secret Headquarters (my store) website! It's a pretty lame website, but I did it myself, so tough noogies

Listen to WOXY.com, it's the future of rock-n-roll!

It's a tattoo created with unstable molecules.
