Richard Willis replied to Cavaliere (moderator emeritus)'s discussion What are you watching right now?
"I just finished watching the last episode of Angie Tribeca. It was originally on TBS and all 40 episodes are available on Hulu. It is extremely quirky in a Naked Gun style. Has some terrific actors who are capable of drama and comedy. "

COVER RULES

By Jeff Alan Polier

A comicbook’s front cover is almost always going to be the first thing that a potential reader will see. As the saying goes, ever issue is somebody’s first. The cover needs to be the first step in convincing them that this issue, right here, is the one to buy. There are many of readers, especially these days, who are already buying and will be…

My Letter to Joe Quesada - "Classified" Solicitations

Posted on February 3, 2010 at 11:21pm 18 Comments

I've complained about Marvel Previews having "Classified" solicitations in the past. For those who don't ever pick up a copy, it's when Marvel tells diddly squat about an upcoming comic instead of providing information that may actually inspire readers to buy the comics. In keeping with my New Year's resolution of 2009, I'm actually writing to Marvel instead of just complaining about it online. Here's the message that I'm sending Joe Quesada via MySpace.

Mr. Q.,

My First Issue of Superman

(Originally presented October, 2007.)

My First Issue of Superman

Superman #261

February 1973

The first Superman story I ever read has the same cover date that I do: February, 1973. Of course, cover dates being what they were back then, that means the issue is actually two months older than I am. This was one of about 70 comics that were at my paternal grandparents’ house until grandma decided to send them… Continue

Or should that be vasectomies? After all, there are two tubes that they sever. Not just sever, either. Both vas deferens had a section taken out, the split ends were moved away from each other, and two of the open… Continue
